Export Video Settings for Web/Email - short clip 10 seconds

Any recommendations for export settings? I tried MP4 mainstream, 100% quality rate control 1024 limit bitrate came to about 2mb but very pixelated. If i left bitrate unchecked the file was 90MB. Substream with everything left defaults was 55MB

Can't logon after updating Startup in BI. "Blue Iris User" Popup window (see pics)

Continues to happen, Not sure what's up w/ BI going to put in a ticket as this should run as service without issues regardless of using a Microsoft account (as admin) to loggon. Is there any other way to force it to run as Service since within BI not working?

Can't logon after updating Startup in BI. "Blue Iris User" Popup window (see pics)

I'm unable to login at all to BI. You mean create a local user account, because I don't have one on my BI PC. I did that before, but then I'm unable to Remote Desktop in. Why does BI even have that option if I can't loggon using it...

Can't logon after updating Startup in BI. "Blue Iris User" Popup window (see pics)

BI wasn't starting on windows restart, so I doubled checked the startup settings. I don't have a local user account, I loggon with Microsoft, so I entered my microsoft email and PW again. Unchecked the option below that about local user. Restarted PC, and it still didn't start, so when I...

Lost Password for Hikvision / LTS CMIP3042 - options?

I jacked my camera up when changing password and now can't get back into it. Any hacks get in? If I can get access to the camera, assuming I can do a hard reset problem is out of all my cameras this is the highest one on the house mounted on the eve and was hoping to avoid that. Any tips are...

Best Practices [mid-level/DIY] for recorded video security/backup/location

This is great idea, I'll have to confirm they have MicroSD card slots they're fairly old (cmip3042) then climb up back to my cameras on the eves of the house though. But very good idea - and assuming you can pull the video from the camera SD card remotely.

Best Practices [mid-level/DIY] for recorded video security/backup/location

I'm running BI at home off a PC and have an internal drive capturing all the videos. I'm always an over thinker and wanted to know if there is a somewhat mid-level/range method to further backup the videos just in case of a break-in. I have my CPU in the basement in the corner, but it's not...

Blue Iris setup using Tailscale or similar

Circling back on this - I think i'm missing something or this is wrong.. So I have Tailscale setup on my BLUEIRIS machine, the Web Server > Local LAN Address is 100.xx.xxx.xx:8081 (tailscale) the Remote is my external IP 72.XX.XX.XX. But it does affect local connections, so to my original...

Blue Iris setup using Tailscale or similar

AHH OKAY.. I was saying I didn't want to open/forward ports so I switched to Tailscale, if i didn't use tailscale or nothing, i would have to open/forward port for BI to work from the outside, correct? And not using tailscale - home LAN/Network, she basically just connects the way you said but...

Blue Iris setup using Tailscale or similar

I was hoping to not open/forward Ports , hence using tailscale for more security. But i guess that will prohibit me giving temporary access to someone unless they use tailscale.

Blue Iris setup using Tailscale or similar

that’s the thing. I don’t want to have babysitter or guest download Tailscale. Set it up etc. if Tailscale is constantly running on my BI PC, is it still possible for remote/temp access for babysittter? I’m assuming not?

Updating to BI 5 - thoughts on current gear

Correct me if wrong - doing the 2 NIC keeps all IP Cameras (or any devices on that NIC) segregated from internet prohibiting any potential for "backdoor" access, this does not protect your home network in general. IF i'm away from my home network and wanted to access BI interface, one way would...

Not safe to by Hikvision equipment since banned in US?

Thoughts on Easy/Moderate Secure Home Network Setup with 7 POE IP Cams/Blue Iris + Locks/Doorbells/Zwave (Adding Home Assistant) Tailscale/OpenVPN?

Not safe to by Hikvision equipment since banned in US?

This is very helpful and intersting. I'm looking to re-setup my home network and concerned about the cameras exposed to internet, not so much for someone to watch them but to gain gateway to my home network. In this scenario above, that will elimate that totally? Will also still be able to...

Not safe to by Hikvision equipment since banned in US?

Can you explain a little more? I'm setting up my home network and don't want to go back to way it was (just using the Blue Iris wizard to setup up remote access) I have Hik cameras, don't really want to mess with VLANs. I'm tech/pc savvy to a point, What would you recommend? 2 Network cards and...
