Blue Iris app + business related + I'm not to sure

I still have to ask the customer lots of info. I could be totally wrong. MAYBE the customer would be AOK to actually have something like email alerts, and then fire up VPN client to log into UI3.

Blue Iris app + business related + I'm not to sure

I have to ask the customer more details, expectations, etc. If they are AOK with something like email alerts or such.... I'm still good to go for use of BI. Of course if something critical happens, that is when they would most likely want to see live streaming. Hmph...conundrum

Blue Iris app + business related + I'm not to sure

I love how in my home environment, Blue Iris goes deep down the rabbit hole for customizations. However, in a commercial environment, less could be better due to the less personalized needs. Interesting you say DW doesnt recognize 5442 AI alerts such as IVS tripwires. I assume the 5442 sends a...

Point to Point Wireless Bridge Recomendations

My experience with Ubiquiti's and Mikrotik: Ubiquiti's "used" to be our goto point to point. Nothing fancy, they just worked and affordable. Until we had to shoot over a marina. Ubiquiti's wouldn't cut it. Tried 5 or 6 models. We tried Mikrotik, 100% worked. We now use Mikrotik for...

Blue Iris app + business related + I'm not to sure

I have a 2nd quote to put together for a customer since I've started telling folks that my business works with IP cameras. Of course, I will only work with Blue Iris since I am wonderfully happy and knowledgeable with configuration options for home use. The 1st quote was simple: 20+ Dahua...

Idiots on HOA Board installed useless speed bumps

I'm vice prez of HOA board. Why pay for speed bumps at specific locations when you can have 8" deep pot holes here and there for free!

Repairing shorted out IP POE cameras. Too challenging?

Northern Nevada and Sierra Mountain Range has been battered this year from rain, snow, wind, and ice. Not at all bad for we need it. But not so great for my outdoor Dahua IP cameras. In my mad rush to get cameras operational during Da Tire Slasher, I did not fully weatherproof the default...

My friend has a stalker: Short and long term solutions?

During my time with Da Tire Slasher, I went down the rabbit hole in regards to home defense and security. I had to. Waking 3-4 times throughout the night when the sound of a leaf blowing in the sphere of my house (I'm talking 11pm, 2am, 4am, etc) wa a small price to pay to save my $1000 tires...

copied your reply to support to see what they say :) Before you posted this 23 minutes ago, Nexar support did reply: I'm here to help. They actually do upload automatically to the server. It's just it only happens to Clips. Automatic clips gets the file uploaded into the server where as full...

Nexar One: I really want to give this hope

Welcome to your Nexar Dashboard What I thought was a 1 minute 4k clip of me driving around in daytime at a stop light intersection to see how the camera deals with fast moving cars left & right and front.. For some reason, it turns into 2 minutes. In no way is this 4K either. Looks barely...

Nexar One: I really want to give this hope

I set my camera to 4K video recording. I believe almost 320 MB for 1 minute. I will save a clip when I get home today of 10 or 15 seconds and share a link with everyone so folks can see daytime imagery. I will also take a quick couple minute drive later this evening when the Sun goes down to...

Nexar One: I really want to give this hope

Well... updated info from Nexar Support. The whole point of wanting a dashcamera in all my work vehicles are for a couple of reasons I thought would be accomplishable: 1.) in case of accident to have video recording of the event. 2.) to review their driving habits (does the tech speed...

    Recommended VLAN routers in 2023

I am partial towards Ubiquiti line of products for small business / advanced home use, especially their ecosystem of AP's and managed switches (I have the 48 port managed switch and their dinky but so cool 6 port manage switches). However, they did raise some yellow flags in regards to their...

Review- IPC-WL46A 4MP 2.8mm Floodlight Wifi Network Camera

Unfortunately, these houses come with 5'x5' windows front and sides right to living room space. I can understand the neighbor's comments (not complaints or whining as of yet). This spring/summer, I plan on adding LED strip lighting to all fences anyways to give the needed...

Review- IPC-WL46A 4MP 2.8mm Floodlight Wifi Network Camera

I have 5442's and 5231's on all sides of my house with janky 7000 lumen questionable motion activated 110vac security lights. Been meaning to replace them as neighbors have asked me to re-angle or dim the lumens. So this lower lumen floodlight camera is a valid option. I asked Andy during the...

I have 4 super bright lumen lights around every side of my house due to....tire slasher. 3 are motion (1 is failing), 1 is on dusk/dawn. Any specifications on the lumens themselves? The distance of when the lights come on? The sensitivity? Various lens configurations? While majority of folks...

Installing ethernet wire from 14-foot eaves soffit to 8-foot camera height

Before making a committed answer... test at night. Walk around with a baseball cap on as a perp is highly likely to do. Daytime images are easy. Night time with no sunlight is where we all have to have a different configuration due to street lamp glare, low lighting, shadows, etc.

Installing ethernet wire from 14-foot eaves soffit to 8-foot camera height

I'd extend the existing data cable from up in the soffit, horizontal penetration to the inside of the garage, 3/4" conduit down from garage ceiling to the height you want your camera, re-penetrate out to camera itself. I have 3 cameras in my driveway: #1 Left and #2 Right are 5' off the ground...

Help me spend $20,000 (new information in post #23)

dedicated 1500vac sine-wave battery backups for your NVR/Blue Iris machine, for Ubiquiti 24 port POE switch #1, for Ubiquiti 24 port POE switch #2. Gotta split POE sources between cameras incase of failure. Might as well get a Ubiquiti router to make it a ecosystem. 20 SD8 PTZ's! If...

Need camera software that is installer and technician oriented

all in one program for what you are looking for would be sweet. I doubt it exists though due to the wide variety of configurations. Propriety VMS's would have it (Exaq Vision, I think) but not for all makes/models of cameras Just have to do like the rest of us and use VLC, advanced port...

Nexar One: I really want to give this hope

I previously owned 2 different Nexar/Skorche cameras before, I forget the models but something like NX1 or such. They actually worked really simple and great. Nothing fancy. Not even sure what video format was used (720 or 1080). The "drive" videos were easy to review on a smartphone and...
