Necessary specs when doing continuous recording

I have two systems with 9 hikvision cameras each recording 24x7. One is an I7-2600K and the other is a I7-4790K, I had tried an I5-4690K but I experienced poor performance compared to the two I7s. The 2600K runs about 35% CPU and the 4790K runs about 45% CPU. I do not know why but the 2600K...

Well I had to put down my old PC. PS windows 10 blows.

I have a WD NAS on the network and I have Blue Iris Copy Video to it and it works reasonably well. I turned off all of the cloud crap on the NAS and I set it up as a folder in "Clips and Archiving" and set it up as Stored and it works reasonably well on my gigabit network. Originally I had...

    Recent Motion Detection Side Effect

Screenshot is a little blurry as I had to reduce the resolution due to the poor latency. Object size is 349 and contrast is 32. Putting a little more thought into it. I reduced the object size because the vehicles are at a little distance and with the 2.8mm lens they are comparatively small in...

    Recent Motion Detection Side Effect

I did lower the object size a bit on that one because it was missing vehicles on the road and the lens is a 2.8mm on that one so the vehicles appear smaller. I have to remote in to get a screenshot and the latency is horrible right now so it will take a bit.

    Recent Motion Detection Side Effect

After updating to the most recent version on one of my Blue Iris boxes I noticed a new issue. The Camera is displaying the time and Blue Iris is detecting the numerals changing as motion. I have not yet come up with a workaround to meet my needs and was looking for any input. I am using the...

    4.2.9.3

Honestly, I gave up on trying to get Hardware Acceleration running on any of my machines. I have updates turned off and will only update if I need to. That being said, I wish the release notes were a bit more verbose. All of my machines are Server 2008 R2 BI as a service I7-4790K and I7-2600K...

    4.2.8.4 Hardware Acceleration issue

The two in question are currently running Server 2008R2. Both are running minimal extra software as their main purpose is Blue Iris. I also get the same behavior on a Win7 x64 box that I use for testing.

    4.2.8.4 Hardware Acceleration issue

I have been unsuccessful in getting the hardware acceleration to work on any of my Blue Iris machines. However I currently believe that it is something that I have not done correctly because QuickSync is not an option with any program that I have tried. e.g. Handbrake. In Blue Iris I enabled...

    Error Message ?

Yes it had a camera name listed. I don't remember if it was the same camera name the last time I saw it. I have rebooted a number of times and did not save the logs. I guess that Hardware acceleration failing makes sense as I have still not been able to get that to work.

Moving BI to a new PC - performance issues

FWIW... I had an I7-2600K running Blue Iris and it was running fine, for a few reasons I needed to upgrade so I bought an i5-4690K and the performance was worse than the older 2600K was quite noticeable. 8 Camera system on 2600K was around 35 to 40% and the i5-4690K was hovering around 80%. 4.2.8 - January 7, 2016 - Hardware Acceleration

Thank you for the response! Yes, I checked the box in the options. At first I assumed that was the default option so I left all of the cameras on default. Then after seeing no change, i went and set all of the cameras to YES and still did not see any change.

    Clip Database on Flash Drive

Normally I move most of the Blue Iris directories onto their own spindle for performance reasons. As an experiment I plugged in an old 2GB usb flash drive I had laying around and moved the Blue Iris database to that drive. I am using bp2008's webpage and the load times of the clips was...

    Possible to Split Clip Database

I am currently using an external 4TB USB3 hard drive as Storage for one of my Blue Iris setups. New and the db are kept on an internal drive and when it is copied to Storage it goes to the external drive which is kept locked up. My current thought is that I will swap out the external drive once...

    4.2.2 x64 Video Problem

One of my Blue Iris Servers has 5 cameras. 2 are Hikvision HD POE cameras and the other three are analog, attached to a Grandstream 3504 which provides the feeds to the Blue Iris Server. On 4.1.9 and prior all of the cameras have been running fine for about 6 months. I upgraded to 4.2.2 and the...

    I made a better remote-live-view page [OLD]

Just upgraded to Blue Iris 4.1.9 and it appears to have broken the UI2 viewer. Any idea if it is just me or anyone else? EDIT: Reboot after installing updates appears to have cleared my issue. It is now showing up correctly.

    4.0.0.6 Redistributable Requirement

I had 4.0.0.5 installed as 64 bit running on Server 2008. I received the notification for the 4.0.0.6 update and clicked on OK. The upgrade failed, it wanted mfc100.dll. I already have the 2010 x64 redist installed. I then installed the 32bit x86 version of the 2010 redist and tried the...

    BI Version 4.0 Issues

    Blue Iris Motion Detection
