this camera in official Dahua distribution in EU costs about 4K Euro.. I don't think there is anybody here who had ability to play with it.. Yes the spec looks very good. It even supports AI on all channels (with some limitations like Video Meta Data only on one).. Please remember this camera... -

there are many other 2024 and 2023 5xxx-EI features missing on 608-XI firmware... like animal support, IVS learning database, ability to change camera sorting (move 5th camera to be a first one), new UI and many more... all those features were released as part of AcuPick 1.0 and then AcuPick... -

Dahua AI NVR algorithm updates?
only single file, they have AI update inside... only 5xxx-S2 and 7xxx-X have 2 stage firmware update system (2 separate file update) due AcuPick, which were added after both camera were released and original firmware on those cams couldn't accept new firmware with much more extended AI...- steve1225

What is difference between these two cameras? Dahua
Both are 5442 in varifocal 2.8-12mm variant... -S3 is latest generation from 2023 with better image processing, latest Web Interface and more AI functionality.. second one is previous generation... -

none.. as most Dahua cams, there is only one firmware file... only specific models/lines have two with separate AI models... -

no... TIOC-PRO have only fixed lenses... for varifocals - only good old 5442 & 7442... -ZE and -Z4E variants.. 5449-ZE is not sharp, I don't know is this problem in my camera or simply this is problem for all line (F1.0 constant varifocal aperture in 5449-ZE - I never saw any camera lenses with...- steve1225

3449 TIOC-PRO beats both 5442 & 5449.. 5449 in theory is better that 5442, but my 5449-ZE-S2 is not sharp as 5442 or 3449 TIOC-PRO and have older Full Color image video processing..- steve1225

I have exactly this model.. and I must say that 3449 TIOC-PRO (IPC-HDW3449H-AS-PV-PRO) which I have next to 5449 have better night color image quality.. it's much sharper and give brighter image with much more colourful image.. ps. yes 5449 (F1.0) is little brighter that 5442 (F1.6) at night...- steve1225

Dahua White LED turns on when motion detected?
2449-PRO is very basic plastic model with very limited feature set.. white light can't be activated by motion - this feature is limited for TIOC line... look at 3449 TIOC-PRO - it have this feature, white light activation for people or/and cars.. -

check if You really upgraded firmware.. compare firmware version reported by camera with firmware version on Dahua website / firmware source You downloaded... if firmware is ok then you should upgrade AI from firmware.bin file using camera web interface... check does upgrade process is going...- steve1225

normally in Dahua there are only one firmware file to upgrade - which contains firmware + baseline + AI algorithms in one file... other files are for camera recovery over RS232 / TFTP... but on 5xxx-S3 and 7xxx-X cameras Dahua added a few more AI algorithm in camera life cycle.. General_IPC have firmware and it should be uploaded first... firmware.bin have AI algorithm and should be uploaded second.. upload one more time firmware.bin... ps. who came up with this firmware naming/upgrade system in dahua????- steve1225

I must say that changes which Dahua did in last years about DMSS / NVR / cloud integration went in very wrong way... DMSS lost possibility to display events (and snapshots) from NVrs which are not subscribed / reported to cloud / notified to mobiles... Not every one want to be informed by...- steve1225

No, they don't... In latest NVRs firmwares they send massive amount of data to Dahua (probably) servers over HTTPs... I have many NVRs on LTE/5G connections where NVR eats all mobile transfer monthly quota in first days of the month. From my debugging it looks now that any event (SMD, IVS...- steve1225

There is no new features in firmware upgrades in latest 18 months for 608-XI... only security / protocol / baseline fixes.. Dahua forgot about this line of NVR.. -

Very strange setup - only 3 cams (from lower line) and very high NVR. For better Video Meta Data support You should look at 5442 cams which can do mini VMD + AcuPick + IVS on camera at once.. Much more options (especially lens options with varifocal / optical zoom).. Yes 3449 TIOC-PRO works... -
Which NVR to upgrade with from Hikvision
the main rule on both Dahua and HIK cams / NVR... if camera have some AI function (Smart Motion Detection, IVS with human & cars filtering etc) then You don't need NVR with AI functions.. All AI is done on camera and NVR only stores video footage & events & marks on HDDs... AI enabled NVR's...
