Man With Mask / RFID Cloning?

Well when me and my committee I was with ran pandemic response for the US we tried on two occasions to ban that mask entirely in the US because we tested and found out it can never be used as any form of biological protection. The last time OSHA deemed it not a protection device and revised...

High traffic usage by NVR 4432 Dahua when Video Detection is enabled.

Because the computer is the media server for the system, instead of it being a piece of software logging into a NVR/media server to view it. If you are using the computer to record, then you should be running two ethernet interfaces, one for the cam network and the other for the...

Dahua NVR 5216, how to keep it logged out of admin?

in this screen click "Monitor Channels When Logged out" and select the cameras to view when everyone is logged out. By Default, all cameras are selected. On installs like these, I set the outside, inside common areas on Bar cameras because others don't need to see the cash register and back...

    https:// or http://

I wouldn't advise http on things the user enters information. Nor expose it and would insert a redirect command in .htaccess so if someone went there by accident, they would be redirected to the https connection.

    https:// or http://

Also, port 8080 should (ideally) only be exposed on the network (unless you are already running something on port 80 on the outside connection. Then I would have my name server set up as www.mywebsite.com on my port 80 server and security_cams.mywebsite.com point to 8080. For example)

    https:// or http://

Just briefly looking at this, the certificate is invalid for public connections since "." is local host so its only going to be local or .local traffic allowed with the cert. So I would try unplugging the computer's network connection, generate the Stunnel cert with the dyn dns web address...

    Long outdoors netwok cable run

I also ran the same 22Ga STP CMX cable for data to the remote switch. Looking at my note from school 20 years ago: The 100 meter limitation is newer. Because it used to be (for data and POE) 1500 and 500 on 20 ga , 1200 and 350 on 22 ga,, 1100 and 300 on 23 ga and 1000 and 250 for 24 Ga. I'm...

    Long outdoors netwok cable run

The port does that when you plug it in and it first test is to see if pins 4&5 are shorted, then it checks if 3&6 are shorted as well as pins 7&8 to see if its shorted so it would apply power appropriately. I could probably could dig up the POE controller ic datasheet to show you how that...

    Long outdoors netwok cable run

The wire I used was Beldon 9892 by my install records. Which was a install at a shopping mall. I have used 22ga cat5e CMX wire before as remote power wire for switches The 450ft run was the longest run I did that with. Which I used half the wires for + and the other half as - (which was the...

    Long outdoors netwok cable run

One thing I do notice over the last 5 years is fake cat5/6 cable that is aluminum alloy instead of pure copper and they don't make good long runs. However I probably couldn't do it with UTP wire.

    Long outdoors netwok cable run

I decided to do that since the POE power supply was a two prong power with a Y capacitor connected from DC ground and AC Neutral and I wanted a higher impedance than that so lightning wouldn't travel into the circuit as it will seek the path of least resistance.

    Long outdoors netwok cable run

The cameras I took apart are POE B mode even though they connected at 100Mbps. Eventually I imagine all ip cameras will be 1Gb connections as 100Mbps has aged into obsolescence. But regardless if the orange pair or the brown pair is used its still grounded to a power supply.

Which NVR to replace LaView LV-N9916C6E 16 cams?

Hikvision NVRs I think are better than most, but as far as viewing pre recorded footage, you have to do it at the NVR or logging into the NVR's webpage or else it will be slow, clunky, and difficult to search video. There is about a two second delay from cellular networks to/from the rest of the...

    Long outdoors netwok cable run

Mains grounding should never be an issue because of how the Ethernet standard is implemented. However, I did do an installation similar to yours with an additional burial CAT5 wire in the conduit 450 feet that powered the switch because the welding equipment would interfere with the electrical...

    AI Cameras for Community Security

A Ubiquity wireless trunk system will work, just have to know what size and location install constraints. But Ideally you should run the ip cameras off an ubiquity wireless system that lands into the camera port of an NVR and use the NVR as the media server for internet viewing. so the flow...

Network extender and port forwarding issues

It was how you had the AP or the TPlink extender configured. The Ubiquity wifi wireless LAN bridge by default is set up and the combination wi-fi AP in bridge mode was not set up correctly otherwise, you wouldn't have had issues.

    Long outdoors netwok cable run

It pushes POE limits and not networking limits. 1500 feet is the longest data run possible with Cat5e/6 cable. Btw, there is nothing wrong with the gel filled cable. I've installed that stuff off and on for years. You just need to use a dry cloth towel to wipe if off. I use a microfiber wash...

I'm just wondering what brand the camera is because SADP is application specific. On cameras that are not branded Hikvision, i find using a general mac address scanner works like Colasoft MAC Scanner. I have bonded the camera switch to the outside network interface before in certain...

HikVision IP Cameras not allowing admin to change the password or reset them. No reset button on the cameras...

I have only had that work 100% of the time when you plug into the POE switch or the NVR's built in switch. But it fail across a network looking for a camera on the same network. But in those cases I think its the routers that were used. However if the camera is plugged into the NVR, the camera...

HikVision IP Cameras not allowing admin to change the password or reset them. No reset button on the cameras...

Because you have to be on the same IP address subnet for MAC address scanners like SADP to work. So what is the brand? Because manufacturers and off labels don't run the same IP address scheme. HIKVISION is 192.168.1.64 some older ones were 192.168.0.64 255.255.255.0 subnet mask. NVR system is...

which PoE switches are recommended and work for all cameras?

Beyond switches, there is limitations to POE runs. But most POE switches will work with cameras, however, they do have modes that are not compatible. Don't run them in VLan or Concentrate mode because that is designed for certain IOT networking that is not compatible with IP Cameras.

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

BOTH GOP and Dems are not interested in being leaders that represent people. Instead they are into gaslighting and manipulating power to undermine American's rights and way of life for corporate interests. Their current model is a twisted game of good cop Vs. bad cop. The Dems and the corporate...

Issues with older type IP cam

as for as the upside down image, its because the camera is physically upside down in its mount that some installers did that on ceiling installations with some of these old cams. But blurry, I never encountered those cameras doing that other than the dome itself getting scratched up from outside...
