Blue Iris Long Delay with CodeProject Object Detection

@curtis-r In "on alert" config, temporarily disable everything except 1 MQTT action. Do you get less delay?

Blue Iris Long Delay with CodeProject Object Detection

@curtis-r Yeah, it's puzzling. MQTT 8 secs after AI confirm seems too long. I checked my situation. From AI confirm to MQTT, it's 50-100ms. In your cam "On alert" config screen, do you have anything running before MQTT?

Some cameras are just missing footage from the same window every day?

@Ri22o I assume for every cam above you don't have a schedule to switch profile at 7:30 each morning? For each cam, when you configured combine, what is the max file size here? What are the file sizes for those recordings at 7:30? BTW, I have a batch script, configured to run every hr...

Blue Iris Long Delay with CodeProject Object Detection

I assume you know you are running 5 custom models + default object detection for the above camera. That's a lot models to run every time there is an event. Your screenshot above shows that for every event, an image is sent to 6 models - 4 times; you can see how long each model takes. You can...

Gotcha 3M Printed Plates at Night - LPR

BTW, I would love to capture in color like Parley's image. In addition to plate #, we have the vehicle make/model and possibly color, it's a game changer. @wittaj I think you should just light up your neighborhood like @CanCuba

Gotcha 3M Printed Plates at Night - LPR

@wittaj Are you saying that we should do LPR in color now? After pounding into people that nighttime LPR has to be done in B&W with IR? Any chance your white light can cause some instances where the picture is completely washed out (unusable)?

    Cameras & DSC Security System

If your home automation system is Home Assistant, there is native integration to DSC via Envisalink In my case, I have BI5 <-> MQTT <-> Home Assistant <-> DSC1832. This is a highly robust setup where HA can execute a number of actions based on a flexible combination of DSC sensors, BI5 AI...

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

FYI, Node-Red is an automation platform for executing some actions when events/triggers occur. The data is not stored there but in a mySQL or similar database. If you need to search for full/partial plate #, you can do that in UI3, assuming you are on newer release that supports this. I...

Suggestions for indoor wifi cameras with Blue Iris for occasional use when traveling

I have this amcrest with my BI5: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0145OQTPG ***This amcrest has been recommended in other threads. The 2MP version is better than 4MP one if you care about night images, given both cameras have similar size lens.

    Model fine tuning

There is a training module in CP.AI. You can include your own images. It's discussed here How to train a custom YOLOv5 model using CodeProject.AI Training for YoloV5 6.2 module

    CodeProject.AI Version 2.5

@mad-maks Use CP.AI Explorer (Benchmark tab) to get an idea of how many requests/sec it can handle. See screenshot below. Think about # of requests (or operations) instead of # of cameras. If you have 100 cameras but few events, or 50 cameras but twice the # events, the load you put on...

    Blue Iris and CodeProject.AI ALPR

@morikplay Make sure it is objects:0 not object:0. This turns off default object detection. I have used both approaches in Home Assistant. Easiest is to put a binary sensor like this in configurations.yaml: mqtt: binary_sensor: - name: "Driveway ALPR" object_id: "driveway_alpr"...

@Keizer Yeah, it's addictive when you hear the relay noise. Next thing you'll need is a 3D printer so you can custom print a case for your hardware.

    Mini-Review - 5442-Z4E-S3 AKA B54IR-Z4E S3 - Replacement to the 5442-Z4E

There are additional reasons to use BI5 versus NVR: #1: You don't need to worry about matching camera brand with NVR brand #2: You can tell BI5 to send events to a home automation system like Home Assistant where you can include other sensors to trigger smarter automations. #3: I believe...

    Smart irrigation system

Yes, ESP32 chip + some relays is the answer, in my case, to control other things around the house, not sprinklers. If you haven't worked on ESP32 before, it will be fun & educational. The added benefit with DIY is that there are a ton of other sensors you can add like temperature, humidity...

Bright sun + shaded license plates = OCR failure

@bluetentacle FYI, awhile ago, when I installed my Nvidia card in my PC, installing Nvidia driver and CUDA was not enough, CP.AI still did not utilize my GPU. I had to uninstall CP.AI and reinstall again before GPU was utilized. (A suggestion from MIkeLud1)

@bluetentacle I have a Dell Optiplex SFF so I need a half height card also. This is the one that worked in my PC case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B087R7V2Q6/ You also need to check the power requirement for the Nvidia card. Many higher end cards need alot of power such that your PSU...

Bright sun + shaded license plates = OCR failure

As I have heard, CP.AI ALPR can only run on CPU or Nvidia GPU. MikeLud1 mentioned this in another thread. Your CPU and integrated GPU is a bit old so I don't think it will be performant (enough) . Personally, the CP.AI response times in your screenshot above is way too slow, especially if...

Bright sun + shaded license plates = OCR failure

If you look at your screenshot, you can see that you got http code 500 from CP.AI and it spent 11+ seconds so it probably gave up (timeout). Not sure what you are running CP.AI on but your PC may not have sufficient resources when alot of requests are coming in at the same time. You're...

Yes, it's slick but a bit too pricy for me, and I have their access points. If it doesn't work with your existing chime, someone is going to complain about it.
