    Neel help with POE Camera

One POE switch for my 3 POE cameras and that's connected to an Asus RT-AC86U wireless Router. All cameras are on a different Network from the main. @wittaj Yes, they have water proofing and all are under a soffit which never gets wet. But, why would it only affect the wireless signal though? -...

    Neel help with POE Camera

But why only those 2 cameras that I moved? I've had them for years and I never had this issue. Only started happening after I moved them. I also thought about the throughput and disabled other cameras, but the issue persists. My other POE camera and all the rest work as normal.

    Neel help with POE Camera

Hi guys... I started having a weird issue recently and I cannot figure out what's wrong. I recently had to relocate a couple of POE cameras due to my gutter downspouts were in the way and blocking some of the view. The cameras were there first before the gutters ( and the gutters needed to be...

    Video/image Quality

I found the setting! In the Console, I clicked on the Edit Layout.. and I noticed the Height was set to Auto...so I changed it to 2160p and the pixelation went away. I wonder why Auto didn't use the right resolution.

Not sure what you mean by "base server". If you mean this... I have it unchecked to get the full bitrate. In UI3, it is already selected to use 2160 4K, not VBR.

    Video/image Quality

I am using UI3 and I have clicked the 3 dots.. it's using the same profile, Streaming 0, but it says VBR. and it's set to "No Limit". The Stream is set to 0 and the one on the UI3 which is also set to Streaming 0 is using VBR, but I have changed it to CBR, but no difference.

    Video/image Quality

@smiticans - Hi there.. quick question.. same deal but when viewing the cams on the web browser.. I have changed the "Streaming quality" all the way up to 2160P, but it still looks very pixelated. It didn't used to look like this.. this changed after I replaced my 2MP cameras with 3MP, 4 MP...

Do you mean here? - it's already unchecked.

    Video/image Quality

I don't use substreams. With my new rig, Blue Iris only uses about 5% of CPU with all my cameras.

    Video/image Quality

Hi, I recently bought some Tapo C110 and C120 2K cameras and they work fine, but I notice the live view looks much better when using the Tapo app vs using the Blue Iris app. In the Tapo app, the image is much crisper, whereas in the Blue Iris app a lot more pixelated...it's like the pixels are...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Yeah, this Asus RT-86U (Main Router) I have..because I also have Pihole setup... if I disable Intranet access on the guest network. it blocks devices from connecting to the network. (this is an issue with Pihole). If I can't disable Intranet on the Guest Network, then there is no difference...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Now I have to figure out how to control my IOT devices like light switches if I connect them to the 2nd Router while being connected to my main wifi.

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Since all my cameras have internet access disabled anyway. what is the main purpose of having this setup?...just curious.

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Success! - After fiddling around, I was able to get it to work using the the wifi/Ethernet combo! So the Ethernet cable is connected from the 2nd Router to the Ethernet Port on the Blue Iris machine and I am using a wireless adapter for internet access instead of a 2nd NIC (which I guess would...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Got it.. thanks..I've tried Zero tier in the past, but I like to use OpenVPN for simplicity purposes. So in my scenario, the Blue Iris Machine can have internet access via wifi (192.168.1.x) and I can use its Ethernet port to connect the 2nd Route (192.168.2.x LAN)?

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

Now.. one quick caveat... on my BL machine, I do not have a 2nd NIC per say..but I can use the Ethernet Port as the 2nd NIC and use a Wireless adapter to have interment access. that seemed to work the first time I tried but I was just not seeing the wireless cameras. I have a weird setup as my...

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

I always disable internet access to all my cameras via the router. So no cameras ever see the outside of my LAN.

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

I do have an Asus RT-AC68U router and I can set it to be an AP or Wireless router.. but since the instruction said AP, I was confused because in Access Point, the router does not assign an IP automatically. I will try the 2nd router again using the Wireless Router Mode

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

I am using my Tapo cameras fine, but the issue I have is when trying to use the dual NIC option. The instructions say to manually give them an IP, but you can't do that with these cameras. These are not like Amcrest or Dahuas that have a gui were you can change their IPs.

Dual NIC setup on your Blue Iris Machine

I tried to follow the instructions, but I am unable to view the wireless cameras. I have TAPO C110s and I am unable to give them an IP address via the camera itself. Since the AP won't have DHCP, how can I do this with the TAPO cameras?

    Alerts Question

This is my setup.. hope it makes sense... Can I use that Ethernet cable that’s providing internet to the Blue Iris machine and the other PCs on the other side, to use it for the vlan setup? I am saying that because the BI machine and the other PCs on the other side of the house can have...

    Alerts Question

Trying to figure out how I can do this because my Blue Iris machine is in another part of the house different from where the router and POE switch are. The router and the POE where the cameras are connected to is on the other side of the house. I have one Ethernet cable running from the outside...

    Alerts Question

I've been reading on the instructions for the 2nd NIC setup. I do have a USB Ethernet port adapter I can use for that.. but, would I be able to view the cameras on my phone even though they are going to be on a different subnet than my phone? What I mean is.. for example, my phone connects to my...

    Alerts Question

I disable internet access to my cameras, so I wouldn't think hacking would be an issue for me since they can't access the outside of my LAN. I will look into a 2nd NIC to see if that is something that would work for me.

Ok.. makes more sense now, thank you. Regarding the audio.. the cameras are connected directly to the router and they are not segregated at all.

I'm sorry. I just thought of something.... going back to the Alerts.. so If I am setting 1 Gig for the Alerts Folder.. what's the difference between setting it to Database Only vs using High def Jpegs?..won't they both go to the same folder?

    Alerts Question

Ah I see.. Yeah, I've noticed that as well in the past. Be great if Blue Iris would delete the pointers once the video itself is deleted.. if not what would be the point of having the pointer with no video? Thanks for the help. Also, I have been searching on the site regarding audio sync...
