Is there a standalone BVR viewer?

How?! This is a huge issue for me, as my current system handles the ingest more or less without issues (i3-7100T / 8gb DDR4) but the moment I go to export something, all hell breaks loose. I'd much rather leverage either one of my servers (xeon's w/o iGPU) to sit in the background and...

    Firmware/EOL/Camera life? IPC-HFW2831T-ZS & IPC-HDW4831EM-ASE

Happy Christmas/Holidays everyone, A year ago roughly, I bought (2)IPC-HFW2831T-ZS and (1)IPC-HDW4831EM-ASE from EmpireTech here on the forums, and want to ensure I keep them well maintained. As part of this I started looking for firmware updates - assuming there would be one to replace the EoL...

Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!

1903 = Year 2019, Month 03 (March) Which is why 2004 came out in April of 2020 =) But yeah that's probably why - I have the same issue. Not a huge deal unless we're worried about someone hijacking data between them I suppose.

Holiday Computer deals - NVR hardware

If you see larger systems with those specs cheaper, do share I export anything older than what fits on my 1tb 2.5" to a synology, and when my line is trenched to connect it hard wired, to a pair of r320s I'll run opennas or such on. Sadly the xeon in them doesn't have graphics so they're junk...

Holiday Computer deals - NVR hardware

Hey guys, I have a Dell Micro Optiplex running an i3-7100t and have been looking for an upgrade as it struggles with 3x4k cameras and saw this deal. Amazon NUC It's normally on sale for $330 so this is a good deal, and has the Iris graphics. The new 10th gen NUC don't have this good of...

    Conversion on network (UNC) Aux

I'll have to dig into this more; I do know that the i3-7100T does support H265 decode, so that's good! Interesting idea to use the substream to trigger on motion - I'll also look into that.

    Conversion on network (UNC) Aux

Thanks - I'm pretty sure I looked around and couldn't find allocation size recommendations, so I used 64k (I'm a server admin, so in ReFS land that = 64k) I've AV excluding the paths, and defrag is disabled; only a couple write directly to the SSD but I can move those.

    Conversion on network (UNC) Aux

I'm on full 1Gb with a backplane large enough to handle both traffic streams, there's little to no chance I'll max that with 3 cameras, even at 4mp. Even when I put my layer-3 switch in, that'll have 2Gbps LACP. I do use BITools for the temp/weather but I suppose I could live without that for...

    Conversion on network (UNC) Aux

Update: I've changed my two Bullet Dahua's to Trigger + periodic (every 20 minutes it takes a 2-minute recording) in an attempt to minimize my insane amount of ingest. I've also - for the time being - stopped trying to convert them on the initial move to the D:\ drive - my CPU just can't keep up...

    BI coversion offload

I suppose that's a fair question, I haven't done enough testing to verify - but in terms of overall usage it's averaging around 3-4gb/hour per camera. My more detailed post is here on my setup / goals - or at least initial goals. I'm new to this so constructive criticism is excellent =) -...

    BI coversion offload

Bvr is 4k for me, I'm trying to archive them at 1080. Using the built in conversion during a move to a other drive just slams my cpu

    BI coversion offload

I've another thread in the troubleshooting are, but as a quick question - is there a way to offload BVR conversions to another box? My i3-7100T handles ingest well but trying to convert for archival purposes is a PITA - and i can't get handbrake or such to convert the bvr to mp4, or i'd just...

    Conversion on network (UNC) Aux

It's possible/probable I'm doing this wrong... But I can't seem to get conversion working the way I'm intending it. My setup/method: 3x4k Dahua cameras sending H.256 2-Bullet w/ this config 1-turret with: Dell Optiplex Micro i3-7100T 2c/4t @3.4ghz w/qsv 16gb RAM Primary Storage: Samsung...

    I like things Virtual.

Hey everyone! So, a couple things to update: I picked up (2) IPC-HFW2831T-ZS and an HDW4831EM-ASE 4MM a couple months ago and finally got them installed. With my Synology it works fine, but Blue Iris shows almost a constant disconnection / network retry. Is there something special that is...

    I like things Virtual.

Yep! I'm just going to run Windows 10 on the hardware itself; should be fine. Great insight though! It'll be in my basement so heat/fans aren't a concern for me. That's almost sad that you can get a full PoE+ Switch for less than many injectors for PoE+

I've bought: (2)IPC-HFW2831T-ZS (Edit: Bought from EmpireTech!) (1)IPC-HDW4831EM-ASE (4mm) (Edit: Bought from EmpireTech!) (2)N-SW BlueIris (From IPCamTalk!) However, I found - to my dismay - that the N-SW is not able to power the Dahua cameras I bought. It only outputs 24v Passive...

    Zoom vs resolution

There is a roughly 40ft lawn between where my driveway camera(s) are going to be, and the drive. Another 20ft give or take where I'd like facial features and license plate reading. My intention was originally based on the camera Google earth website referenced here, which showed only the 4k...

I get this warm fuzzy nerd feeling whenever I read responses or threads here. You're all such awesome nerds. That's very good information. I'll be using vmware, so will make sure to verify pass through. Though honestly I could just run it on the box, it's not going to do anything else. If I...

    I like things Virtual.

That's a good point on the bullets. I haven't found any turrets that can get the quality at the distance I need. I'm not trying for wide angle to cover greater area, I'm actually only going for a certain area I know I'll capture a license Plate at, but I physically don't have anything close to...

    I like things Virtual.

Thanks! You're spot on - night is important but not critical for the bullet location(s) -- clear viewing at a distance is far more important. i.e. a car driving at around 30m away from the camera(s) I'd like to get the license plate of, in daylight. Which is why the 6mm version of the dahua...

    I like things Virtual.

Thanks - I did go through the Cliff Notes, and the hardware should be fine for my use case. I already have the optiplex, and the low-power is a win for where I intend on physically locating this. I actually am considering using an Enterprise 2.5" in the case itself (i.e a 2tb Constellation)...

    I like things Virtual.

No, seriously - I am a VMWare/Hyper-V Senior Engineer and love me some virtual systems. But, physical security at my home is a growing priority. I picked up some Blink cameras (5 pack) aaaand am shipping them back this week, most likely. Been looking around a lot, and I think this is the...
