    Can you tell us what's the exact NVR model and firmware version? Also, how are you creating the mp4 files for playback? Are you downloading them from the NVR? Lastly, how are you connecting to the NVR, Web UI or local?

    Did you disabled Suspend motion detection under PTZ/Control tab? That will trigger motion while the camera moves to different presets, although the snapshot might be too early before the camera reach the desired location. This thread might be helpful too...

    No, they don't require an NVR. The route you chose it's up to you (SD, VMS (ie. BlueIris, Exacq, etc...), NVR... If you are planning to get an NVR I would recommend a Hikvision, since the camera will be able to use the Hikvision protocol. That's not to say it won't work with other brands...

    Is your camera connected to an NVR? If so, check the settings directly from the NVR gui (not the web) to make sure they match. I've had problems before where settings from the camera or NVR web gui, are different from the NVR itself. If anything, have the NVR settings set to your specifics...

    Nice! I've noticed on mine the need to reboot the camera when adding new accounts in order to be usable, so maybe is the same for changing ports and other settings.
