    Reset password camera ds-2cd1123g0-i

That means it's waiting for a probe from a device that's powering on. The Hikvision tftp updater does not work well when the PC and device are directly connected, the link detect timing is too marginal. Best to connect both devices to their own ports on the switch or router.

Do you think this is a sketchy?

Yes, that was a brilliant infiltration with brilliant consequences. And dropping a few memory sticks in an organisation's car park used to be one of the steps to evaluate a company's IT security effectiveness by seeing how many phoned home.

Do you think this is a sketchy?

And maybe chuck it at VirusTotal out of curiosity if you feel you have a safe way to just handle it as a file.

Hikvision IP camera doen’t connect after powercut

I'd speculate that for some reason, the configuration change is not actually being saved. What browser are you using? Unfortunately, it's still the case that IE11 works best, even with pretty new firmware. Do you get a save confirmation when you make the changes?

DS-2CD2387G2P-LSU/SL not detecting car at night

I'm curious why you've unchecked Vehicle if you want to focus on cars passing by. What did you set for maximum and minimum size, relative to the expected size of a vehicle? It might be interesting to see what event is being properly detected during the day, could it just be a motion detection...

Vraag over instellingen en trage Hikvision recorer

Not really a bad recorder, but it is a low-end model with quite limited performance. Depending on the bitrate, frame rate, video codec that you have configured the cameras to use, you are probably making it work quite hard. What does the bitrate add up to for all 3 cameras? What codec have you...

What version of firmware was on it, and what version did you apply? You may have closed the backdoor that might have allowed password extraction.

    HIKVISION mtd Brick Recovery Guide

What version of firmware does SADP show? If it's between 5.3.0 and 5.4.4 inclusive it may have a backdoor vulnerability that would allow a password extraction.

    Hikvision Product Comparison

My understanding, which hopefully others will confirm, is that the (C) suffix indicates a hardware variant, driven most likely by the supply chain issues that have existed for several years. An implication is that a variant of firmware is consequently needed.

    Trouble swapping HIK cameras

OK, that's good the IP address is correct. If the (unspecified) NVR is an older model, and the (unspecified) camera is a newer model, check in the camera web GUI that there isn't a configuration item enabled that the NVR cannot handle, such as the H.265 or h.265+ codec for example.

    Trouble swapping HIK cameras

You don't need to do anything to enhanced SDK. You need to check the camera IP address versus the IP address that the NVR channel is set to expect the camera on. You can use SADP to set the camera IP address if you know the camera admin password.

    Trouble swapping HIK cameras

Are you sure that's not just the IP address that the (unspecified) NVR channel is set to expect the camera to be on? Was the new (unspecified) camera in the 'Inactive' state that is needed to be able to be 'Activated' when connected to a Plug&Play PoE port? If not - depending on the model -...

Hikvision Virtual Host with non-Hik ONVIF cameras

If your router has the ability to define a static route, you could experiment with accessing the PoE-connected ONVIF cameras directly via the NVR LAN interface. The needed settings are described here ...

    Hikvision DS-7616N-E2 / 8P

Also - I've just remembered - the E-series NVRs don't support the h.265 codec, just h.264. So worth checking the camera web GUI to see if h.265 is enabled by default.

Hikvision NVR with HiLOOk cameras (issue)

On the older firmware, cameras that were activated on NVR PoE ports in Plug&Play mode used the NVR admin password for activation. On newer firmware - Hikvision tried to fix this weakness by providing a separate password for camera activation. That password can be viewed on the NVR using the...

    Hikvision DS-7616N-E2 / 8P

Both cameras you quoted are 8MP models - the E-series NVRs do not support that resolution, you'd need a newer NVR model for them. Also - it's likely that the NVR would complain of a 'language mismatch' when adding EN cameras as the DS-7616N-E2/8P (If that's the correct model, ie not...

Incorrect Time on Hikvision DS-7716NI-E4 After Power Down

That's good. One problem solved. That's likely a Timezone or DST problem as opposed to an NTP problem. I've seen this way back when a camera handles its own time sync but is also being managed by an NVR, which periodically updates the camera time using it's own values. I don't recall what the...

Going crazy - POE Hikvision cam works, Amcrest won't - same cable

This is a managed switch - and while the specs don't specifically mention what port monitoring there is, I'd expect it to show power consumption. That might be useful if it was to confirm that the Amcrest camera was quite a bit heavier on power than the Hikvision one and so was more demanding...

Going crazy - POE Hikvision cam works, Amcrest won't - same cable

For some reason (and I maybe just imagined it ) I thought you had a managed PoE switch. Which would provide a PoE status page with power being drawn per port.

Going crazy - POE Hikvision cam works, Amcrest won't - same cable

Oh well. Looks like the cable then. What's the PoE power draw with the short cable, with and without your hand over the front of the camera to simulate night mode?
