Mean Well power supply for POE+ Switch

So I ran a stress test and did my off and on test and the power supply held up.. So I thought I would post my final thoughts for others that might take on the task of repairing a POE+ Switch. Reason i wanted to repair this one is that it is not only a POE+ it is a Giga POE+ switch and works well...

    POE Splitter Recommendation

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking, but I’ll try to clarify. Passive is passive, and when it comes to most Dahua cameras—and honestly most other brands too you really shouldn't use passive PoE. It's just not made for modern security cameras and could damage them. If you're asking about...

Using ethernet splitter for two cameras

Please note there are in fact a POE version of the 841, They are rare but I do have 841E, and a 721E as well.. So if you happen to find a POE version it will be with the note of such.. As you can see in the picture below, 841EB is POE Black in color camera..

    POE Splitter Recommendation

I am not talking about Mode A or B I am talking about Active and Passive as a whole, Yet for others to better understand here is more details Passive PoE delivers a fixed voltage typically 24V or 48V directly to the Ethernet cable without performing any kind of negotiation with the connected...

Adding hard drive to Optiplex 5060

So that blue cage is the HDD mount. You see the center part next to CPU fan. You pull that inward while lifting up and that cage comes out. Then you mount the HDD into the blue cage by setting the HDD into the other pins and then make sure the side with arrow seats. Then you slide the cage back...

    POE Splitter Recommendation

If you want to run 2 cameras you can do as TuckNTuck said and pay for the splitter, or you could if you make your own ends run 2 pairs at each end of the ethernet cable that goes into 1,2,3,6 of the 8pin ethernet connecter. Do the same at the other end. Then for the second camera again using...

Only 2 of my cameras on this switch support 1000, rest are 10/100 and the one without poe is going 1000m switch this switch is free air so I do kind of worry at max so only 4 ports running AT, 3 AF and one to data switch seeing this one don't have unlink port.. Dahua camera will not initialise

An idea, I would click to see if there is anything that isn't active if you have that option. There are some cameras that are out now that will require them to be active. Either using the IP camera tool or can use the NVR. On your NVR might be an option that says Not Initialized and or Not Auto...

Smart Switch Mod: Flashing “add-on” Lamp as a CAMERA DETERRENT

Yeah, I think DIY is great, but I’m not 100% on board with modifying devices that run on 120VAC or 220VAC. There are a lot of people out there who might see that and think, “Yeah, I can do that too,” without fully understanding the risks. Personally, I think sticking to low voltage is the better...

Dahua NVR -- where to set pre-recording seconds for IVS rule

Well to be fair I think it is important to have the ability to access a remote device using Zero Channel. I just don't like the idea that it can see the menus of the Recorder in real time.. Meaning.. While I am on the east coast, I love to have access to a Zero Channel that lets me have access...

Dahua NVR -- where to set pre-recording seconds for IVS rule

Most of my NVRs are setup with Zero Channel Enabled without having the ability to turn on or off. My DVRs will only change the display but will not display the DVRs Menus or my password or patterns so I am good there and they have ability to turn on or off find that funny.. The NVRs yes.. Only...

Dahua NVR -- where to set pre-recording seconds for IVS rule

What is interesting and I have never looked much at as I just leave them setup as they are most times. But I wonder what would happen if someone made the change from as yours shows 5 min in NVR was setup for 4 camera set to 5, DMSS only had option showing of 0-5 I wonder what would happen if...

Dahua NVR -- where to set pre-recording seconds for IVS rule

What Pre is NVR specific setting? Humm Not in my cameras it isn't. But yeah another issue and why I wouldn't use Smart PSS it has the Zero Channel Exploit and I am not playing that game with more then just WebUI.. I have enough things to worry about, I don't need to add more issues lol..

Dahua NVR -- where to set pre-recording seconds for IVS rule

So looking back in the NVR playback for that event even though it was setup and playback was marked as IVS the playback started much sooner in the DMSS on the NVR then it did on the Micro SD card of the camera. About 8 to 9 seconds before tripwire.

Dahua NVR -- where to set pre-recording seconds for IVS rule

Yes I was also recording full time, However the playback in the DMSS was searched for IVS only and playback started 5 seconds before the event and has been that way before I started recording full time as well. As I said mine was little complex because of how things are setup but with IVS before...

Dahua NVR -- where to set pre-recording seconds for IVS rule

@tigerwillow1, can you confirm that DMSS also starts at the events? I just looked at my Ai camera in DMSS and found one that was able to start on its own seeing I have a complex setup that things kind of merge in to each other. however I found a clip of a human going by that triggered my IVS and...

PTZ Controls For "Pan/Tilt" Camera with "Digital Zoom"?

When it comes to working with digital zoom in Bi or NVR you would need a camera that works like a ptz to start with. Like Amcrest 841, 941 and 1051. They act like a ptz even able to save preset with zoomed. Those cameras are fixed lens that uses software zoom aka digital zoom. What made them...

Understand, I have some 5mp cameras however to be honest they are junk.. I do use them because where I have them installed and working they do what I want them to lol. IP Camera night vision

Something to try, If your spot light or security light is on a switch. See what the motion looks like without the light coming on. IP Camera night vision

I would be interested to know what your night time camera settings are. That could be a few of a different things. First comes to mind is Slow Shutter speeds. Next and I don't know about your camera. I know that some cameras to work in IR will reduce the FPS to 5 or 10 fps at night. If your...
