Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

To followup on what I wrote above about the focus being different, here two snapshots (top picture from top camera) taken at the same time using the SAME focus setting (1732) at zoom=550. Since the camera's are within a few feet of each other (and the slant distance is less), clearly (or not so...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

So my 2nd T54PRO-ZE showed up late yesterday afternoon ... so FWI FWIW that here's a comparison if you are wondering about variance in manufacturing ... albeit just a data set of two. TL;DR is doesn't seem like much difference ... although the focus numbers weren't as close as I thought they...

Downloading videos files directly from camera via web interface (using other than IE) seems to be capped at *TEN* Mbps

Yea, ideally the common code base (such as network interface and browser integration) should be shared across platforms.

Downloading videos files directly from camera via web interface (using other than IE) seems to be capped at *TEN* Mbps

BTW @steve1225 , if you want to see some bugs that got FIXED, try using the "clean browser" and hit the snapshot button on your 5442-S3 ... mine is running Andy's 12/21/2024 firmware. As an aside, I bet you see the same I do that the (excessively large) PNG file (for my scene it is about 10...

Downloading videos files directly from camera via web interface (using other than IE) seems to be capped at *TEN* Mbps

Thanks @steve1225 for confirming the issue - means a lot coming from someone as knowledgeable as you. To be clear to everyone, this is not a "show-stopper" ... but it's an annoying bug ... and ideally should not be hard to fix - LOL if someone looks at the code and there's something that says...

Downloading videos files directly from camera via web interface (using other than IE) seems to be capped at *TEN* Mbps

First time I heard this ... so yea, it's possible that if the SD interface is really (REALLY!) screwed up, that would throttle the speeds. Since the PNG download and firmware upload probably don't involve the SD card. Is this an "official" Dahua published buglist? It would be great to put this...

Downloading videos files directly from camera via web interface (using other than IE) seems to be capped at *TEN* Mbps

As others have commented, it sounds like you have a network issue with your 54PRO. You could further troubleshoot this by trying to download a snapshot - the 10 MBYTE PNG is basically right away for me (both the 5442 and 54PRO) so I presume it's downloaded in a second. Ditto if you want to...

Downloading videos files directly from camera via web interface (using other than IE) seems to be capped at *TEN* Mbps

I just downloaded a 457.9 MBYTE .dav which took 350 seconds per timing from my phone. SD card is a (fresh) Samsung 512GByte that I just put in the camera that got delivered today, which can certainly go faster! That is 1.31 MBYTES/second - converting that to Mbit/seconds isn't quite a 8:1 (or...

Downloading videos files directly from camera via web interface (using other than IE) seems to be capped at *TEN* Mbps

Yes (with the plug-in) ... but why in 2025 should that be necessary? Modern browsers (without plugins) can download PNG's and upload firmware at 100Mbps ... why are video downloads capped at 10Mbps?

Downloading videos files directly from camera via web interface (using other than IE) seems to be capped at *TEN* Mbps

Roger there is no Gbit (see posts #6 and #7) ... but the issue is that using the web interface to download .dav files directly from the camera's SD card is at 10 (TEN) Mbps ... NOT 100Mbps ... even though that wire speed is easily obtained when downloading PNG's (via the snapshot button) or...

Downloading videos files directly from camera via web interface (using other than IE) seems to be capped at *TEN* Mbps

Pinging this thread with a 2025_10_18 update in the OP as the problem still persists with the latest firmware on the T54PRO-ZE. Maybe @EMPIRETECANDY you can ping (pun intended!) Dahua to look into this since it may be an easy fix.

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

FYI that the 4K-T is FIXED iris ... as is the T54PRO-AS ... so I assume those fixed focal length cameras always run wide open and therefore shutter speed and gain are your exposure controls. The vari-focals (5442-S3, T54PRO-ZE) can change iris/aperture ... so you have the full "triangle" to...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I think @steve1225 is (yet again!) onto something there ... as I feel the exposure is "hotter" than the 5442-S3. As @CamCrazy wrote (good stuff and I appreciate @EMPIRETECANDY providing our feedback to the Dahua Engineers), I also have seen that dropping the gamma (to 35-40'ish even) seems to...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Just curious if any of you with the 4K-T have gotten the recently released (fixed focal) T54PRO-AS and have an opinion of it versus the 4K-T? The 4K-T is 8MP with 1/1.2" sensor, whereas T54PRO-AS is 4MP with 1/1.8" sensor ... with the claimed(!) lux values of 0.005 and 0.004 in full color.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Ditto what @CamCrazy said - with 16 camera's, who has more (not counting installers) than @StevenFromTexas ?!?

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Per my comments in this thread, I believe that the T54PRO is applying some sort of NR even if it is set to zero.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I defer to others more knowledgeable, but since you are running a pretty high bit rate, maybe reduce the FPS from 25 to 15 to reduce the load on the camera CPU. Ideally that would not make any difference ... but at least for testing purposes, maybe worth trying.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Any reason you aren't allowing the Iris to go full open? I agree should not be necessary during the daylight (and smaller aperture is more DOF and the lens should be sharper) ... but any chance that makes a difference?

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

It is definitely NOT fixed aperture. I originally had mine zoomed in at 1650 for my "desired" image, then since my "target" is 1920x1080HD, I had it resize to that output. However, when I zoomed out to 550 and use the native resolution of 2688x1520 (and in then in my post-processing crop to...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

@CamCrazy: Good info - cool that they are minimal power draw. I found that doing HNL HLC=1 (yes, ONE) improved the image. @Tinman: Good stuff. I took a screen grab of before/after LED turn-on and made the GIF below as I thought it might be interesting to see how the background is changing as...
