    Just residential users. Used VPN for corporate and mine sites however a bit overkill and complicated for home users.

    Yeah back to NOIP for us I think. It's just hard to get clients around the whole idea of paying and explaining why its cheaper than a static IP etc. Might just make my own DynDNS server.

    Hi, You should be able to use the inbuilt hikvision ddns in the cameras software. I'd recommend not using hik ddns if you have purchased a Chinese model camera as the hacked ones can be unreliable.

    I have that issue intermittently with SADP. Manually connecting like you have done is the only way to fix that. I find the issue occurs more when connecting over wifi or using a USB Ethernet dongle.

    1&2 I think it's just produced cheaper for the Chinese market. 3 I believe that they need to pay for H265 licensing or something so they don't ship English models with H265 from what I can gather. They can sell the H265 locally in China without paying for the technology.

    Not tried re terminating the rj45 crimps? Expand and contract in the heat? I had an issue where some rj45 mechs would fail or intermittently work after a month due to not being crimped enough using cheap crimpers.
