Good to know. Ill have to keep this little product in mind. Although I would want to be able to speak back through the camera from a smartphone app and havent figured out if thats possible yet. -

Thanks man! Good post! On a slightly different note, have you ever tried a passive mic with an RCA connector on it plugged into the mic in on the camera? Wondering how much the amplification of a powered mic is really needed in the case of say using it indoors. Also, FWIW I also found this...- ben_r_

Mic connected to the white RCA connector if I remember correctly. I have the same cameras but no mic connected to them. Youll have to find an outdoor mic though. With an RCA connection (or rewire it yourself). That might be tricky. Im not sure what others have used outdoors. -
New firmware for Dahua NVR4104 ?
This was kinda my thinking on going with a rebranded Dahua NVR (in my case a Q-See QC8816). When there are firmware updates such as these they distribute them and I can get them from their website. Then I just bought Dahua cameras from AliExpress to build out the system. -

Well, Ive got the cameras and so for Ive just plugged them into the NVR to make sure they are working and they are automatically setup and work just like the native Q-See ones. So far I can confirm that with the QC8816 NVR the Dahua IPC-HDW4431-A, IPC-HDBW4421F and IPC-HDBW4421R-AS all work fine. -

Whats going to be even more interesting for me is I have five Dahua 4MP camers coming and Im hoping to get them working with my QC8816. If the QC and QT products have so many issues I wonder how bad its going to be with Q-See QC series and Dahua cameras. -

Yes Q-See just rebrands Dahua products. Thats interesting to me that you got a QT series camera to work with a QC series NVR. If you call Q-See they will tell you QC series NVRs only with with QC series cameras and the same with QT series NVRs and QT cameras. Didnt make sense to me, but thats... -
