No, I never resolved it so returned the cam for a refund. I also realised that there was no way of updating the firmware on the model that I had (at least not from the web GUI)
I have the audio checkbox unchecked for that user but I still see an audio control at the bottom of the browser. Is audio control simply redundant if audio is disabled for that user?
I also notice that the video stream seems to be in a permanent buffering state when I view the stream using that...
That's a really nice alternative - thanks. Is there any way of restricting the access to video only when viewed using that method (while retaining audio capture on the server)? I don't want remote users to hear the audio
I'd like to make the video stream from ONE of my cameras viewable remotely via a web browser (ideally Chrome, Edge and/or an iPhone/iPad Safari browser. (How) is it possible to do this with BI 4?
Has anyone had any luck getting a video stream from this model in Blue Iris? I've tried all of the Wansview presets, plus automatic autoconfig (which appeared to work), but I don't get a stream
Yes I can probably get the router to reserve an IP address, but the camera seems to randomly assign a different port number for access every time it reboots (presumably a security measure), so stabilising the IP address is only half the problem!
I guess DHCP would give it an available IP address from the pool, and the camera would give itself a random port number, so no danger of any clashes. A DHCP reservation might stabilise the IP address but not the port number.
I can find the IP address (there's a Vstarcam camera finder application to do it), but both the IP address and access port change every time the camera restarts (probably a security measure) and there's no way that I can see to make the port and IP address static. There's another program which...
I just bought a new C7837WIP (I already own two older ones). The new one has completely different firmware (48.53.75.98), which seems to be crippled compared to the old version - the new one has no web admin interface, and it is impossible to apply a static IP address. The facility for changing...
Thanks for the suggestion. I just tried the Onvif Device Manager. It detected the camera, but couldn't do much with it. I couldn't view the video stream, and when I tried to change the IP address in Network Settings I got: "The MTU value is invalid"
This cam seems to have nice easy Android app to set it up, but no web admin interface and no way to configure (or even view) the IP address from the Android app. Does anyone know how to set a static IP address for it?
I've tried using the Eye4 camera finder application (Windows 10), and...
Dangers noted. Unfortunately this is going into a network where there are no other always-on (or even often-on) devices which support it. Actually I've had a Vstarcam at home for a few years and I have to say that it's been excellent - rock solid.
Does anyone know of a working, free Dynamic DNS service that can be used with this camera? As far as I can tell, none of the free services listed in the options are currently live (factory DNS, ipcam, dyndns.org)
I have an IP cam pointing at our garden. From time to time we like to capture and save clips when one of the pets does something entertaining. Ideally I'd like to select an individual clip from the BI (v4) interface and convert it to mp4, avi or some other universal format (I have the default...
