Having 2 irritating problems with snapshots. One is setting the size, on the Dahua 5216 NVR and Dahua camera both have a menu tab to set photo size, but it seems to be disabled. There's another tab that has photo quality 1-6, but that leads to my other problem -> I can't get the NVR to send a...
I keep testing my 5216 Dahua NVR and 2 cameras. Finding that trip wire seems better than area intrusion. The area intrusion has only a minimum target sized box, not a maximum box. So today with wind & clouds, the alarm kept going off with large cloud shadows passing through the area. Also...
Crap...I was playing with the settings on day/night and it started the same problem again. IR stays on even though you have "off" on the menu tab. BUT, this time I found if you put the IR on "manual" and put the slider to 0 (all the way to the left), the IR is effectively off (and stays off).
I looked and the software had factory reset for "camera" with no channels shown. I was afraid to proceed further because i didn't want to reset all of them.
Had to take apart my camera and reset it because the IR light stayed on all the time, even though the software menu would be set to "off". Actually got it back together without screwing it up. Set screw holding the base was easy.. rest was doable but irritating...small screws. Also didn't...
Concerning night & day...I'm finding my 2 cameras (4233 & 4431) on the Dahua 5216 NVR can only be set to change with the schedule. I thought "normal" would be the setting where the cameras switch settings automatically when outside light levels change at sunrise/sunset. Doesn't work, only...
The SMS worked and a lot quicker. Verizon has [email protected] Only thing is the NVR has a space for only one email. The camera allows more than one email, so I entered my email & sms mail at the camera also. Will see what it does. Thanks.
Thanks a bunch guys...I'll try it out with the line lengths. Been out all day. Isn't obvious from the manual..but a lot of stuff isn't..Fastb - never thought about the email/SMS but sounds great.
I have 2 problems with my Dahua 5216 (16 POE) setup. One, I find in the manual that it seems like it should send SMS messages to my phone when an alarm is tripped, but when I log into my NVR I cannot find the menu for SMS. I'm using the 4233C-A & 4431 Dahua cameras.
Other problem is that my...
There's a post with several pictures labeled something like 4431 vs 4233. You can do a search (upper right corner of screen) just listing Bryan under member and it will pop up.
Just learning how to do it myself, I feel your pain, took me hours. You have to go into your email settings and write down the OUTgoing SMTP address and port (under advanced in Outlook) not the IP address as the manual makes it appear. Sender is same as receiver. Device config -> Network ->...
I'm still not seeing IVS marking on the timeline no matter if it is on 2hr, 1 hr or 30 minutes. Is there a menu button that enables/disables it? Or some setting under the IVS alarm?
My Dahua 5216 NVR works well but the user manual is poorly written. It needs more explanation on "how" to do stuff instead of just stating what a menu item does. Stick to the same brand cameras as the NVR, make sure the cameras have IVS (pure motion doesn't cut it, unless you like 100 email...
Maybe you could find some cheap round tupperware bowl or toy rubber ball with a body size slightly bigger than the camera main body. Cut a round hole out that fits snugly around the smaller turret part. And paint the bowl/ball instead. It would have a small airspace between it and the camera...
That's what I was looking for on my timeline but couldn't find the marks. Only the present play point was showing. Strange...I'll have to try it again soon. Do you need to enable a certain button to make the marks appear?
Tinkering with my Dahua 5216. Found while setting trip wire up that I don't need to enable motion detection also. Otherwise it will alarm with any motion detection on screen. The regular motion detection stops with me walking at about 150 ft away. For the trip wire I made the maximum box about...
Yeah if I only needed one or two cams it'd be great. Probably will need 16 to cover entire perimeter and out buildings. Loved the way you staked the distances.
If the hard drive is with video in a usable Windows video format maybe you could buy one of those docking stations by "Plugable" and hook the HD up to your PC. Amazon.com: Plugable USB 3.0 Hard Drive Dock for 2.5 and 3.5 HDD or SSD (Supports SATA III, UASP and Drives 8TB+): Computers &...
