    You haven't looked at the big open source HA products? OpenHAB/Home Assistant? Both run on raspberry pis, and both can incorporate bits of what you want. But they're not a turnkey solution.

    Most cameras run POE, power over ethernet as it means there's only a 5mm hole needed that delivers power and network. Much easier. Consumer based cameras use DC, on a wall plug. Unless you can create a dc plug to dc plus extension then they'll need 110/240v extension cables.

    is there a way of setting, pulling the channel names from a dahua NVR to iDss? Mine currently says channel 1, 2 etc. I have a standalone camera and that has a channel name.

    I was hoping to see an answer to this as well. I had an older firmware on my 4104p, and that supported IVS, but upon upgrading to the newer ones (which had many more benefits) it lost this capability.

    If you look for a 12v ac adapter, about 1a, with the right sized dc barrel and use the lan tail for lan, and dc tail for power, the camera should go enough for you to play with.

    I think it's the same GET_URL = 'http://{0}/cgi-bin/configManager.cgi?action=getConfig&name=VideoInOptions[{1}].NightOptions' But instead of only being one night option, there's 1 per channel.

    I use google photos. Yes its slow, but great for going back through. Depends on your purpose. If you want immediate review, it's the wrong tool, but a long term storage and review site it's perfect (IMO).
