    IPC-Color4M-T vs IPC-T54IR-ZE White

@bigredfish , how did you make the Color4M turn on the warm lights when detecting a human? I have set IVS and the only Event Linkage I can find is flickering of red/blue lights, there is no option for Warm Lights. The illuminator in camera settings is set to Smart Illumination with Human Target...

    IPC-Color4M-T vs IPC-T54IR-ZE White

My front neighbor got robbed three months ago. I caught most of the arrival and departure of thieves on my PTZ camera. Thieves almost never go through the front door. They go through the back, just like they did with my neighbor, where they broke a back window. So, I have already three cameras...

    IPC-Color4M-T vs IPC-T54IR-ZE White

Hmmm, I never thought about vertical use. Thanks! Truth is also that on the right side of that walkway, right where the camera view ends, there is another incoming path through some steps. The 2.8mm may get some of that too.

    IPC-Color4M-T vs IPC-T54IR-ZE White

I hear you @bigredfish but I have a 3.6 and need more angle to get the walkway more to detect an incoming person sooner. This is the current view, and I know the angle is a bit messed up and needed to be higher but I didn't install this. The other thing I am thinking is that these ceiling views...

    IPC-Color4M-T vs IPC-T54IR-ZE White

Tomorrow arrives my 2.8mm Color4M which I will probably put on front door. @tmxv4128 yours is a 2.8mm too right? I am almost regretting I put a 8mp Color4K on my driveway yesterday, which needs the warm light all night on.

Any 180 camera with IR + Warm Light + IVS (trip wire)

Pinging here again if anyone has an idea. I am convinced I need a 180 camera and may end up getting an IR one with 1.8" sensor. Whether or not it has a warm light and IVS is what will make me buy it.

    IPC-Color4M-T vs IPC-T54IR-ZE White

I tried the T54IR and liked it. I am looking to get more cameras, but I don't need the T54IR zoom. Is the Color4M almost identical to T54IR in terms of picture quality at night with IR? T54IR: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C77TNY9 Color4M: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D59WT2ZB About Color4M...

Any 180 camera with IR + Warm Light + IVS (trip wire)

Looked at Empiretech and ANNKE 180 cameras, but can't seem to find a camera that has all of the below: 1. 180 degree view, dual lens. 2. 1.8" sensors on each lens 3. IR_illuminator + Warm illuminator when it detects people (my ANNKE FCD600 has this, and works great) 4. IVS rules, I need to...

Reflective tools to calibrate LPR camera focus at night?

Thanks. Yes, yours screenshot matches mine, focus is set only in Live view. I am still surprised that focus setting is baked in the schedule profile. Dahua and Empiretech can do a better job to convey this, like put a slider to set that manual focus in the profile view itself:

Reflective tools to calibrate LPR camera focus at night?

Where are the multiple places to set the focus? I go to Camera settings, switch to Night profile, and then go to Live view to change the focus, but when I go to Live, the profile changes back to the scheduled Day profile. I can wait for the Night schedule to kick in, but you mention you can set...

Reflective tools to calibrate LPR camera focus at night?

I am going to try this later. Fyi, I have S2 and gui looks different from yours. The only place I can set the focus is the Live view tab, I think.

Reflective tools to calibrate LPR camera focus at night?

I guess that's what is killing my experience. I thought the focus is always the same, but as soon as I switch the camera to night mode it is blurry as fuck. Then I tune it for night time with a license plate and next day I find it blurry during day. If focus has to be different between daytime...

Reflective tools to calibrate LPR camera focus at night?

Not sure I follow. You have manual focus at day and night, right? Then the focus should never ever change because there is no profile with auto focus. This is what I was hoping at least. Or are you running Night at manual and Day at Auto?

Reflective tools to calibrate LPR camera focus at night?

For your points 2 and 3, I already use manual focus 24/7. And yes, I use the camera GUI to fix the focus and play with the Steps to fine tune. My question is basically what reflective tape or stud has worked for you or others here. @The Automation Guy , looks like we have the same problem. Is...

Reflective tools to calibrate LPR camera focus at night?

I have the Z12E S2 dedicated to license plates. It has manual scheduling for Day and Night modes, both with manual focus. The frame you see in the picture is maybe 170 ft away, not sure. Despite the manual focus, it starts to lose focus every few days, not sure why, maybe because it shakes due...

    Review-EmpireTech IPC-B52IR-X3 1/2.8" CMOS 3 × 2 MP bullet cam

Thanks guys for answering my question, but WTF, I didn't know that even these simple camera specs are so arbitrary.

    Review-EmpireTech IPC-B52IR-X3 1/2.8" CMOS 3 × 2 MP bullet cam

Question: if this camera has stronger IR and same sensor as the Z12, why isn't this a good/better LPR camera than Z12? Assuming the tele lens on this fits well the road, of course. Has anybody compared this with Z12 for LPR?

Worst PTZ you own but dont want to remove

Btw, what would make this PTZ great is scene modes applied to specific presets, so when the camera goes to LP zoom preset it shifts to my LP shutter mode 1/1500 or so. This way one can use the camera both for general wide motion detection and LP reading... all at night. This is of course if the...

Worst PTZ you own but dont want to remove

@Revo2Maxx thanks. @wittaj you may not remember but we talked about this in another thread. I tried some good settings and managed to almost get visible license plates at night. See here: https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/convince-me-reolink-is-bad-to-buy.80215/post-905006 In fact, I have a...

Worst PTZ you own but dont want to remove

Well folks. Three months after putting the PTZ425DB-AT, it captured a burglary event at my front neighbor. A car came around two times, one time to check his mailbox and another to drop two masked guys which went on the back of his house and broke the door. Police came and saw the recording, but...

Which 180 degree camera to pick + other questions

Is this supposed to be some sarcastic joke? It's easy to fill the need to gang up with cheap jokes. What's difficult these days is for people to talk normally with thoughts that span beyond the 3 second attention span learned from tic toc. Btw, I tested the camera in white light, and still has...

Which 180 degree camera to pick + other questions

Flickers are random, so would need to keep the camera out for a while. It is also crazy cold now outside, it would cost more to reheat the house with a window open than this camera costed :)

Which 180 degree camera to pick + other questions

Alright, trying it without IR light, just white light, still in basement. Will have to decide next steps after that. Yes, I can try outside, but it means taking off another existing camera because I don't have free Ethernet cables. Trying it indoors behind a window will be problematic for IR...

Which 180 degree camera to pick + other questions

The only settings I really changed was the frame rate and i-frame both at 15fps. The other stuff I may changed but put back to default later, the main try being the WDR. Video below shows the settings. I am not keen to test this camera outside because it needs non-trivial work to mount...

Which 180 degree camera to pick + other questions

Sorry to contradict you @wittaj but I flipped the camera upside down and that left camera still keeps flickering even though it is now pointing in the other direction. And the right camera has no flicker. Here is the video.

Which 180 degree camera to pick + other questions

Which one you suggest? The good 1/1.8 sensor has a distorted aspect ratio that I don't like, and costs 3-4 times this one from ANNKE. On top of that, the Empiretech has no IR or light, just external lighting. So, this cheaper ANNKE was not that bad on paper.

Which 180 degree camera to pick + other questions

@wittaj there is nothing moving or changing, not even bugs. Why would the camera try to adjust when nothing changes? I can flip the camera upside down to see if that side still continues to flicker when on the other side.

Which 180 degree camera to pick + other questions

Ok, I bought the FCD600 from ANNKE, and turned out to be faulty. I set it up for testing purposes for a couple of days in a basement. The left camera has some sort of random flicker that triggers the basic motion detection. I have not tried putting the camera out to detect humans and cars...
