You didn't mention which level of XProtect you are using. The top level product has a License page in Management Client app, where you check status of your license use and can command it to Activate License via a few methods.

    PTZ Camera with Monstrous zoom?

The zoom specification isn't the most important for your request. You should be looking at the field of view angle number at max optical zoom, as that is the actual "how zoomed in is the view" specification.

Dahua Login Bypass Tool - Chrome Extension

bp2008, v2 doesn't get me into the XVR that I posted specs of above. Perhaps it's version is too new and not vulnerable. If you are on MS Teams I can probably do a screen share to demonstrate, PM me.

Dahua Login Bypass Tool - Chrome Extension

It should unzip like this. You unblocked the zip after downloading and before unpacking? There's also a chance a anti-virus app on your computer deleted the files soon after they were unpacked. Maybe check for logs in your AV software.

Dahua Login Bypass Tool - Chrome Extension

Very nice work bp2008. I tried it against two Dahua cameras I have, and it was able to log into both with Method 1. I tried it against a relatively recent DVR/NVR/XVR and it said 'not detected as a camera' and was unable to login. Once logged into the camera, is there a way to change the admin...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua - IPC-Color4K-X / DH-IPC-HFW5849T1-ASE-LED - Full Color 4K Camera

If we've learned anything from Covid, it's that just in time doesn't work. What does work instead: "Buy it cheap and stack it deep." The most amazing factor here is that in the last, what, 3000 years, it's never been less expensive to borrow/own capital (i.e. interest rates are lowest in history).

Wall mounted fish eye - WHY???

HMC, have you considered using Blanking feature inside the camera to blank all the useless portions of the video?

Wall mounted fish eye - WHY???

It's one camera doing the job of two cameras. Saves a lot of infrastructure cost that way. Don't fret that, yes, 60% of its pixels are wasted and the 40% that have a good view are mediocre pixel density on target.

    2021 New Product From Dahua

Other manufacturers have ran into the situation where PoE+ 802.3at is not enough power for their device. So they use a proprietary, or non-IEEE method of PoE, and include the injector with the camera. Still more convenient than dedicated power supply and cable. And then there is 802.3bt, which...

Exported content is corrupt depending on camera resolution - Hikvision

I can't solve all your problems. But I recommend against transcoding video when you are exporting from the VMS (Milestone). Transcoding only makes the video worse: worse quality, worse bitrate efficiency.

    Fish Eye?

It all depends where you do your dewarping. Ideally you have the camera set to full view mode (fisheye) at a single, high resolution stream. Then you use the viewing client to dewarp the video in real-time with a virtual PTZ-type interaction for the user. If your client software doesn't support...

I need a recommendation for a wide-angle, outdoor camera and parapet wall mount

Dome cameras tend to zoom out to about a 110 degree corner to corner view angle. If you want wider than that you are pretty much stuck with a multi-sensor or fisheye/360 camera. The problem with mounting a fisheye camera on a parapet mount is that it is going to face straight down, which puts...

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

Back in the 2016 election, I liked the idea of "draining the swamp." It's a vague enough strategy that I suppose we all project our own vision onto it. My vision included removing people like Berhardt, not bringing more of them in. He sounds like everything I wouldn't want in government...

    Big news Milestone Q3 2020

No, because channels live within the device. So: You can have multiple channels per device. Previously you could have a 100 channel encoder device that allowed you to bring 100 cameras into the system and it would only cost you 1 device license. Now they've closed this loophole so now this...

    Big news Milestone Q3 2020

https://www.milestonesys.com/campaigns/license-model/ Milestone has finally closed a big loophole in their licensing model. Starting with 2020 Q3 release, they are charging a license count for every CHANNEL in the system, rather than every DEVICE. They have left a few exceptions where...
