    59 was replaced by 6, if the cable companies need to go further distances they use 11. You could use cat6 with epoe switch/nvr and camera or if your gate is powered run fiber

    If you drop another nvr in there you can have redundancy by linking channels from the other one so if someone stole the primary or burnt the house down you’ll still have footage on the other one.

    If it’s the same cost go for it but it probably won’t make a difference; your bottleneck will be your hard drive and file system.

    I don’t know what they’re charging you per hour but I’m going to guess it’s between 120-140. This is not “highway robbery.” That’s my rate here in KC and I’m on the cheaper end vs my competitors like SEI, SIG and C & C group who are all 30-40% more.
