NVR IVS and Camera SMD: adding a siren to each camera

Your nvr is capable, you’d have to run an extra pair with an additional psu. I’d also make separate additional ivs rules for night or whenever you’re not going to be there to trigger horn/light.

Need help with new networks install.

I’d just run the fiber if not just for bandwidth but also if lighting struck the shop. And if this is just their man cave and not a commercial business with employees and clients accessing the network I wouldn’t bother with further complicating the network. I’d also consider the length of the...

    Andy's IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3

Op might be referring to US dahua model numbers. It’s always been a pain trying to compare cams and nvrs with all the ones everyone here uses; Andy’s dahua numbers are completely different from US for the exact same hardware.

Long range transmission on HIKVISION DS-3E1106P-EI/M 4 POE Switch

If you have a non ptz cam try it out there. Your ptz is probably needing to much power for that distance without having that extender in the middle. And I’m not sure about Hik but dahua has their Epoe that requires both epoe port on nvr/switch and, epoe camera. But I’m not sure they have a epoe ptz.

Lake House Install (Camera Placement) — Help!

I’d consider IR illuminators away from cameras. Whether you go onboard IR or led you’re going to attract every insect around giving lots of falses.

    Indoor Concealed Camera Recommendations

Well Hikvision has an ip one for about $140 DS-2CD2D25G1-D/NF Sperry West has several from clocks to smoke detectors from $2-500 range. Speco and Dahua have pinhole ip/poe ones, dahua is about $350. Keep in mind the legality's and your state laws of “reasonable expectation of privacy”

    Hikvision door bell camera

Well I don’t know what your budget is but you’d probably be happier with something that is meant to do that. Tablets always seem to need restarting or at least relaunching the app after timeouts. Hiks video monitor is a 7” display with WiFi and 12vdv as well as poe for $350 DS-KH8350-WTE1

Never even adjusted that one, just threw it up with factory settings.

    Warm LED Camera Light

Not a real fair comparison because the pic with snow not only has the light on but the snow and almost full moon to reflect light. Other pic was from a week and a half ago.

Power Requirements for Dahua DVR, Cameras, and HDD. Are My Calculations Correct?

It’d be pretty cool if you had a upc that could communicate with a nvr and drop a second drive, an ssd, and only use that while running on bbu at a third the draw of primary hdd.

Use Hikvision Acusense with Dahua NVR

Not happening. You can use AI by recorder if you get a high end model nvr for IVS features, but you’ll have to plug the cameras into a poe switch.

    Luminys vs EmpireTech?

It found it, and initialized it just fine. All the ivs functions were there.

    Optical signal transmission

I’d have to wonder what’s on both ends? Do you have 2 devices both trying to issue addresses? Other thing might check; are both fiber and sfp’s matched (both multi or single mode)?

Power Requirements for Dahua DVR, Cameras, and HDD. Are My Calculations Correct?

I’d imagine you’re trying to budget a BBU? I personally would rather know for sure then go by specs. You can spend $12 and know what your day vs night draw is...

    Luminys vs EmpireTech?

Been a while, thought I’d give an update. So now that we’re to the point where ADI can no longer get Dahua US nvr’s I finally pulled a luminys I’ve had for months out and started playing with it. The nvr IS completely compatible with dahua cameras. But like I mentioned in the other thread there...

Fiber instead of PoE, what about power?

But you and loony have never climbed a pole. Big red fish and some of as has, for decades.

No BS, what do you guys do for a living?

Fiber instead of PoE, what about power?

Ever heard the expression “everything before ‘but’ is meaningless bs?” I’ve worked on several with inner and outer peremiters with ptz, thermal and buffer zones. This being the most recent. And I’ve never heard of a “professional” using premade Ethernet or fiber runs let alone mechanical splices.

Fiber instead of PoE, what about power?

Only places I’ve seen that were either large footprint or hardened DoD facilities. Unless you’re running and fusion splicing it yourself it’s not feasible vs the cost of replacing a couple cams. When you say “surge protectors”, are you referring to the bs power strips that everyone calls “surge...

Need a camera to detect where insects are exactly entering in my kitchen

Maybe look to the pest control industry instead of cctv! Here in the Midwest if you have a wood shake roof you either have pest control (power dusting attic) or you have silverfish dropping out of light fixtures. Roaches on the other hand are not the same social insects as say, ants, so you’re...

Absolute best solar/battery powered 4G/5G camera

    DahuaUS>Luminys First impression

I get it, but when flir became dahua it was the same factory hardware and same comms protocols with minor changes; port 35000 to 37777.

    DahuaUS>Luminys First impression

I wasn’t even going to bother, mainly just bought for reason above and to see if it was interoperable with legacy dahua. Tech support is no longer open on Saturday so I’ll give a call tomorrow to see if there is a way. I might try plugging it into a newer n82b3p when I get home and see if it’ll...

    DahuaUS>Luminys First impression

Well finally got the first product, went ahead and got a 12mp just to see what it could do in well lit retail environment. To my surprise they are not backwards compatible with Dahua NVRs like Flir was when Dahua took them over. Only Onvif support and only in sub stream of D1 even though NVR...
