    Dahua NVR screen timeout?

Hmm, I might have not looked enough. Under System -> General there's a "Auto Logout (Min.). I set that to 0 and now there's still a HDMI live view days later. I guess that was the solution.

    Raspbery Pi2 Camera Monitor w/Rpisurv

Yeah, I think I have different problem(s). Even with stock Raspberry Pi OS, the RPi won't fully boot. Sometimes it stuck on a black screen, at the moment on a white screen (with grey RPi icons/accessoires; don't know what this screen). SD card seems to be fine (writing OS and accessing files...

    Raspbery Pi2 Camera Monitor w/Rpisurv

I know this is a very old thread, but I was playing around with an old Raspberry Pi (first-generation Model B) and I couldn't get Rpisurv to work. Looks like (GPU) memory issues. (Even with just 1 substream) The OP of this thread says a RPi model 2 or newer, the github page just says a...

    Dahua NVR screen timeout?

Quick question; I have a Dahua NVR4116HS-4KS2 connected to a TV. I almost never use the HDMI output (I watch recordings through SmartPSS) but once in a while; I have the TV display the camera('s). But when I switch the TV's input to the NVR; the screen is always black. The camera's will show...

@EMPIRETECANDY Refurbs are just returns right? Since you now have a EU Amazon store (Germany), is there a possible refurb list for us Europeans in the future? ;)

    Bird feeder

I've gotten interested in this subject too. But the thing is; it's not worth €100+ to me. A Dahua camera would be the easiest (easy integration with other camera's and NVR) but the cheapest one ( IPC-T2431T-AS) is still close to €100. Dahua doesn't seem to stock cheaper camera's anymore. Also...

    WizMind vs WizMind "S" ?

The 'old' 5442 also has a build-in mic. Inevitable but slightly annoying, because it seems there isn't a direct replacement for it. @jarrow Yes, the body of the camera looks cheaper indeed. I'm interested in what the actual, real differences are going to be versus the 'old' camera's, also...

TP-Link is innovating better than Hik/Dahua?

This. I have no experience with camera's from Google, Ring or the like (probably for the same reason as most people here), but that stuff could potentially be installed and used by anyone. Now compare that to a system with Dahua/Hikvision camera's with a NVR or something like Blue Iris. Most...

    WizMind vs WizMind "S" ?

Yes, I saw these new camera's too. I used their 'Product selector" to compare both versions of the IPC-HDW5442TM-ASE. Differences between the 2 seem to be lower Min. Illumination and 4 instead of 3 streams. The 'new' one also has Audio In/Out and Alarm In/Out. But most differences seems to be...

    Detecting wildlife with Dahua cameras

Oh don't get me wrong; I like the fact there's build-in human/vehicle detection. For a lot of situations that's hugely beneficial like you said; brings down false alarms. But it's just sad Dahua then removes functionality like basic IVS detection; I mean; there's even a checkbox to check/uncheck...

Yep -> Seems al new models are moving to vehicle/human detection only. A real shame Dahua is actively removing functionality.

Dahua NVR continues blue (intelligent) recording?

Don't know it it keeps working, but - for now - that tips seems to help this problem too: https://www.ipcamtalk.com/threads/dahua-nvr-seems-to-forget-ivs-recording-settings.61146/

In my case (using Alwinner V2 firmware) I can assign a user name and password for RTSP, ONVIF and HTTP (same username/password for all 3)

Yi Home Camera and Smart PSS

This. I imported the Yi camera's in the NVR and SmartPSS connects to the NVR and can see the camera's that way. For live view I use tinyCam Pro though; much simpler interface and faster to use. Imported camera's via RTSP with that app.

Yi Home Camera and Smart PSS

I have 3 Yi camera's (a very old 720p version and 2 newer 1080P versions). Out of the box they don't support RTSP/Onvif and I wasn't quite fond of the stock firmware/app. But there are several custom firmware's you can flash on them. To list a few: https://github.com/TheCrypt0/yi-hack-v4...

Dahua NVR W/ VPN Setup - Push Notifications

Pretty much what @awonson said above. I have a TP-Link C7 router with a OpenVPN server running on it. When I'm not home and I have OpenVPN open on my Android, notifications get through. DMSS app is configured with the camera's/NVR IP-adress, not P2P. Nowadays, I would probably run Wireguard...

    Detecting wildlife with Dahua cameras

I finally got around to reading this topic. I have a 5442T-ZE (destined for family) above my own 5231R-ZE. While I love the better image quality (both day and night) of the 5442; I was not able to get it trigger non-humans/vehicles and reading through this topic, now I know why. So as of...

Ah, now I get it.;) That screenshot you posted before (of an order of 3 5442 camera's); that €23 difference was the Paypal rate? If so, yeah that's bad. Can you do this for all items or only items already listed on Amazon.de? And so in the future for us Europeans just order directly through...

Yes, Amazon.de prices are with tax (in our Dutch case 21%) but on Aliexpress the tax is only included with items of €150 or less. I have spend way to much time today researching this but for us Dutch/Europeans; since 1 July 2021 rules have changed. When we buy something from outside of Europe...

Current camera brand/model of choice (available in europe)?

I ordered a camera (IPC-T5442T-ZE) a few weeks before Andy opened up his German Amazon store and I won a coupon with his 7 years anniversary promotion so I ordered it via email. As for the 2 camera's listed on Amazon.de; to be fair; those 2 are by far the most popular models here. And yes; Andy...

@Sokonomi You do know @EMPIRETECANDY / Andy now has a Amazon.de store: Amazon.de A limited number for now, but at least the most popular models for sale now. Hopefully more models and other stuff soon. Also; a few months ago I bought a camera from Andy directly (via email) and shipped to The...

EmpireTech 7 Years Anniversay Promotion Plan

Sure we can. Before Amazon started the Dutch Amazon in March 2020, we Dutch had to buy from Amazon Germany, UK, France etc. if we wanted something from Amazon. And we still can, only thing is there might be a small TAX difference between the Netherlands and 'foreign' Amazon websites, but Amazon...

Improving 5442T-ZE Images, primarily at night

Following this thread. Been tinkering with a 5442ZE that will go to a family member in due time. Playing with these settings also. Funny thing is, camera was still in day mode but as soon as I changed one setting (even slightly) it went to black/white and never came back to color, and being in...
