    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

I have five 4K T's and also have 3 IPC-T541R-ZE-S3 cams among others. I wish all my 4K T's were the T541R-ZE-S3 cams with external IR. They are just super crisp at night and for me they are easier to look at. Don't get me wrong, my 4K T's do a good job. I have the onboard lighting off and...

Do you have a night shot with those settings?

    CPU/Fan monitoring

I have to say, this has come in extremely handy for setting up my fan curve on my new BI box.

    CPU/Fan monitoring

Its over WIFI. Just connect the phone to the same network as the BI PC.

    6k quote from security company

$6k for 5 cameras ? Tell them to go rip someone else off. I swear, some trades think their work is gold plated. I know a few electricians that think that way.

    CPU/Fan monitoring

I ended up using a smart plug and attached a phone wall charger to it to plug in this monitoring phone. I created an automation in home assistant that charges the phone for two hours, then turns off for four hours. It's on a repeat schedule Monday through Sunday. That way the phone isn't just...

    Moving from BI to Protect?

It's not just CPAI. I have a couple Tapo cams with built in animal/people/car detection. I don't have them as part of my BI setup and instead use their companion app. It's pretty funny seeing it detect a rock, or a garden ornament as an animal.

    Moving from BI to Protect?

I gave Unifi Protect a try after using Blue Iris for a few years. After a few days I packed up the UNVR Pro, sent it back and used the money to build a new Blue Iris PC. Protect comes highly recommended by many people but as far as surveilance goes I didn't see the appeal at all. Keep in mind...

This looks like a really good solution.

I just got Tailscale set up this morning. Everything seems to work excellent. Camera access is instant.

    CPU/Fan monitoring

I just built a new Blue Iris PC. Before, I was running Blue Iris on an old (2013) home built system with a 4th gen i5. I ran that thing 24/7 and didn't really care if it gave up on me since it was so old. Now with my new system, I'm wanting to maybe have some hardware monitoring software...

    ZeroTier

I just got back from vacation. Using Zerotier was painful while gone because it took many multiple tries to connect each time I wanted to view my cameras. It would always eventually connect but what a pain in the arse.

    IVS rule not functioning

Yep, the two cameras I was having issues with lose both their manual settings with a reboot.

Have to give it an A for effort!!! :p

    IVS rule not functioning

I'm setting up Blue Iris from scratch on a new PC. Maybe I should have factory reset all my cameras first. But, I only had the issue with the two.

    IVS rule not functioning

What's interesting is when I hit Find/Inspect on the two cameras I was having issues with, only one of the "ONVIF source" text boxes will have 5 zeros. The other box is blank and I get no ONVIF alerts. I have to maually set the zero's in the 2nd box and save to get the ONVIF alerts. On all my...

Well what are the details of your testing?

    IVS rule not functioning

The only camera (out of the 13 that I have deployed) that has three zero's is my PTZ cam. My 2nd PTZ cam (different model) has the five zero's. As long as both boxes are populated everything seems to work fine.

    IVS rule not functioning

For anyone finding this in the future I figured out the issue. I had to set the second "ONVIF source" text box to "00000" in the Blue Iris camera settings. My working cameras already had this populated.

    IVS rule not functioning

I have two cameras that don't detect motion using IVS. One is an Empiretech 4KT and the other is the T-180. All my other 4K T cams function just fine using IVS. I have everything set up with these two cameras exactly the same way as the others that work just fine. Settings are identical in...

Newbie here, coming from dreaded Reolink. Educate me

8th gen would be perfect. I am actually building a new BI PC. My i5 gen 4 is from 2013. Plus it's running windows 10 which will be unsupported soon. I wouldn't mind running my Home assistant on this new system as well. Right now it's on an Intel NUC which has been great.

Agreed! I have been running a i5 4th gen Blue Iris PC for the last 2.5 years. Thirteen cams total.

Experience with Unifi Protect and UNVR Pro

I will give my experience since I just set up a UNVR Pro. My comments are in no way a knock against MTL4. He has been very helpful with me and my questions. I have only had a couple days worth of using the UNVR Pro and the protect software. I am honestly very disappointed with their 3rd...

    ZeroTier

I had that exact issue a couple weeks ago and just brushed it off. After reading your comments I just tired to connect to BI using ZT. Again it took several attempts to get it to connect.

Experience with Unifi Protect and UNVR Pro

I guess I was just wondering how the $199.00 G6 would do against my 4K T cams at night. Maybe with the right amount of light they could do just as well at night. I assume they would stay in full color all night with enough lighting. Be nice to see someone compare the two. I'd probably trade...

Experience with Unifi Protect and UNVR Pro

Their new G6 line up has me wondering. I see you have a color 4K T camera. I use five of them and set up my own LED soffit lighting for all five and keep the onboard LED's off. The lighting is controlled by smart dimmer switches and they automatically turn on/off with automations in Home...

Experience with Unifi Protect and UNVR Pro

It seems like if you had older generation unifi cams that it would make more sense to just buy new G6 turret/bullet cams with on board AI instead of buying $200.00 AI ports. Although it looks like you can run more than one unifi cam per AI port so I guess it might be kind of a wash. The AI...

Those AI Ports seem like an expensive solution with so so results. Like adding $200.00/camera to get AI.

Experience with Unifi Protect and UNVR Pro

Well, a few different things. I mentioned earlier about my three IPC-T54IR-ZE-S3 cams. I have them mounted on the back of my shop which is a busy thoroughfare for night time critters. I will lay in bed reading waiting for the alerts to come in so I can watch the racoons, opposums, skunks...
