A used PC with BlueIris would be cheaper and have way more features than a hikvision nvr.

Ezviz DB1 with Honeywell DW915S installation issues

This is a limitation of your NuTone LA600WH wireless chime as it only works with NuTone wireless switch. If you want it to work with DB1, then you need to wire up the chime.

Complete Smart Tracking failure with newer firmware before and after vidoes.

Sorry, got the info messed up. The way I see it, you either wait for an answer from HIKvision support or your try older firmware for your camera. (I know you said downgrade isn't possible) Here are some older firmware for your camera...

New user trying to figure out an affordable POE-based Blue Iris system that doesn't use companies like Dahua, Hikvision or Reolink

It maybe weak, but it picked up the motion of a cat and recorded it so that's good enough for my use. I have 9 motion sensor flood lights outside my home working together with my cameras. I think they deter potential thief and work well enough to ID a person. If my goal was to ID...

The SV3C cameras I have are made by IPCAM as their firmware worked on my SV3C cameras. I'm pretty sure the one I recommended is made by them too.

That's between you and HIKvision. No idea. I believe I was the first one to updated firmware on my cameras, but my cameras are $50 and not $3500.

I have a few 5MP SV3C cameras and I like them as they have ONVIF and RTSP which is what you need for BlueIris. They do phone home so I cut off their internet access by not giving them a gateway IP nor DNS...

Home Assistant + Hikvision Ip Cams

I solved the problem by buying a $40 PC and a $60 BlueIris NVR software and had it integrate with HA. You already found a work around with H.264, so use it.

    Network & Wifi Planning

I'm cheap, so I bought used routers that are capable of using OpenWRT firmware so I can set them up however I want them to be. For your case, Asus makes some great routers that can be setup as Access Point. RT-AC88U has 8 LAN ports!

    Need help installing a GPU

P400, P620, GT 1030, GTX 1050TI all have low profile version and they won't stress out your 250watt power supply. Though, prices for any video cards is high right now due to chip shortage.

    Vlan alternatives using raspberry pi

The only task TP-LINK 1043nd V1 needs to do is DHCP server. You can turn the wifi off. With OpenWRT installed, you can use the DHCP server to assign "blank" gateway and "blank" DNS address to specific devices so they can't go to the internet...

NVR software for Raspberry Pi 3B+ (4GB) or 4 (8 GB) - any recommendations?

I don't think it's a good idea as my Pi3B doesn't have enough power to run a smooth youtube video, and I don't think Pi4 has that much more power. https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=281494 Might be simpler just to get a NVR and use the Pi for OpenVPN and DDNS.

Why can't drivers with good driving etiquette report drivers with bad driving etiquette to the appropriate authorities?

China had a program where they would reward drivers to send in footage of other drivers doing bad things. They found out real quick people would use two cars working together and one car records and the other car forces the innocent to "bad" things.
