    At 5.6 watts per port you're clearly well under the 250 watt maximum. Being a managed switch I assume it will tell you how much power each port is putting out. Maybe this info could provide a hint?

    You could try ROI on the soft areas. That could possibly isolate the difference between the sensor and the processing.
