    Ebay $17 for broken/parts 4k Lorex ( thing worked!)

Wow! Looks like they hired someone to paint the house and they sprayed over everything!

3 Phases and the fuses pulled. Lineman kept the bear from climbing up. The arc and bear parts would have probably ruined the lineman's day if it had gone up!

Thanks! I will buy some for the next iteration. This was a proof of concept right now and it is already retired!

    Temporary POE connection.

So finally, here is what the box internal would look like. Those are 1 ft. cat 5e cables. I had a terrible time making shorter ones so gave up. With all the cables, it is a tight fit in the box. Here is the final mount. My intent was to be able to easily add a different camera to the...

    Temporary POE connection.

Another camera is currently mounted on that box. The second POE will just be for testing in that area instead of running another cable.

    Temporary POE connection.

I never did get a G3/4 connector but did get something recommended by @TonyR My thoughts are just to use this temporarily to test a new camera. I did see this and it seemed too unwieldy.

How in the hell does one talk to Dahua??

I asked ChatGPT for a supplier of this type of grommet and it was a dead end. But as I type this I remember that as a kid, we had a toy(?) that was RTV (?) and forms that we could make things like cockroaches to put in ice cubes. Could one come up with a form and use that stuff to make a bushing?

How in the hell does one talk to Dahua??

I know this is not the answer, but it might be a clue. The grommet on the Gojo dispenser is the same style but smaller.

    Temporary POE connection.

I bought this one. https://amzn.to/4pfxXvB I bought a PFA6330X to mount a second camera in the same location without running a second cable. I was just wondering if anyone had experience doing something similar. Last night, for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out how copy a link from the...

    Temporary POE connection.

I’ll try and verbalize this as best I can. I have a PFA 121 mounting box. On one side it has a G3/4 “pipe” plug. I bought a POE extender that is small enough to fit into the box. I want one port of the extender to go to the permanently installed camera. The second port will go to an RJ45 female...

    Happy Veterans Day!

My father was a Korean War veteran. My history teacher in high school was a draft dodging sack of sh*t and also the assistant coach. We spent history class reviewing last Friday’s football videos. When I asked if we could discuss history instead of football he said that the Korean War and...

I remember in the late 90s, they drained lake Griffin they said it was the most alligator infested lake in the state. I think we will eventually find something greater than 15 ft.

    Happy Veterans Day!

I just talked to a guy that knew 6 guys on that list. I would go through 5 gallons of trichlo a week. We ripped out the asbestos but still found piles in the crannies after the shipyard certified us as clean. The advantage of a surface ship is that we could turn over so much air an hour that...

    Happy Veterans Day!

Thanks to all the veterans on this forum. This very serious article came out this past week from the Submariners Advocacy Group. The very nature of being a veteran means we were exposed to a large number of hazards. Submariners are exposed and continuously re-exposed time and time again because...

    The official "WTF" thread

Gloves shouldn't be worn while running a lathe. The risks of a glove getting caught in the turning mechanisms far exceed the benefits. No gloves and no loose long sleaves! https://legalbeagle.com/7560870-osha-gloves-around-moving-equipment.html

Camera to stream basketball games at church

@HMC8403 someone else asked about cameras for streaming a sporting event. My thoughts at the time was to use a portable basketball hoop to mount the camera to. If you have portables around, you can roll it around to find the best spot. You can mount at various heights to get the vantage point...

How to waterproof a PFA130-E junction box

@ministrymason You keep mentioning a cable gland. I do not think finding one to clamp down on cat5 cable would be difficult. I have done this several times with cat5 cable and SO cord. But I think most glands would be to deep to screw it inside. How about a pipe to barbed connection like uxcell...

Junction box hole size for my conduit

Yes the 1/2 is 1/2 inch. But with pipe 1/2 is nominal not actual! It looks like the 20mmx1/2” is the right fitting for your 15mm pipe. But I’m just a yank! Your results may vary.

Junction box hole size for my conduit

So the conduit is comparable to our 1/2 pipe size. You might ask if they have g1/2 fittings. A US hardware store would not but maybe yours? Or Amazon.com.au? This from Bunnings https://www.bunnings.com.au/holman-15mm-x-1-2-pvc-valve-socket_p3141883 says 1/2 but I am clueless on if Australia 1/2"...
