how to set up Hikvision DS 7608 NI-I2 NVR and Hikvision 2CD2047G2 LU network camera for lowest delay from real time live view

There should be settings on Liveview something along the lines of "Realtime/ Balanced/ Fluency". Unlock the NVR and they're at the bottom of the camera picture when you hover over the bottom section.

Hikvision 4k colorvu acusense turret focus

Keep in mind adjusting the focus for closer objects will affect the focus for distant objects. You may be able to find a better balance between the two by adjusting it.

DS-2CD2387G2-LU 4mm 8MP ColorVu out of focus, black pixels when zoomed in?

It's there all the time - be it over 30C or below 10C. I could pull it apart and try to manually adjust the focus, but the luckily the side affected isn't within the area we're most concerned about monitoring. If it was on the RHS I would be looking into it further. Edit: I've had similar...

DS-2CD2387G2-LU 4mm 8MP ColorVu out of focus, black pixels when zoomed in?

Yes, as already mentioned anything closer than that range will go out of focus. Mine also has an issue with the far LHS of the frame being slightly soft in focus compared to the rest of the frame (at all distances.)

DS-2CD2147G2-SU - you can't see anything at night despite colourvu

You'll revert to black and white images though. That can make it harder to identify any intruder.

DS-2CD2147G2-SU - you can't see anything at night despite colourvu

I've got a couple of these and they light up a whole room. Recharge via a micro USB lead, you can vary the light output and the sensitivity to the ambient light...

DS-2CD2147G2-SU - you can't see anything at night despite colourvu

That's a bit odd. As others have said, you do need some visible light for the ColorVu cameras to work. You mentioned it is inside- I've got a few different motion activated night lights inside my house. Something like that would supply enough light.

DS-2CD2147G2-SU - you can't see anything at night despite colourvu

You could turn the on onboard LED light on- that's what it's fitted for. Much like the IR lights on normal cameras.

No audio from Hikvision IP Camera linked to Hikvision DS-7216HUHI-F2 (2016)

Have a play around with them all to see which gives the best sound quality. There can be a very noticeable difference.

No audio from Hikvision IP Camera linked to Hikvision DS-7216HUHI-F2 (2016)

Have you got the Audio compression set to G.711u ? That appears to be the only standard the DVR supports. It will probably only be accessable via the camera's web set up menu, not via the DVR. https://us.hikvision.com/sites/default/files/data_sheet/510658_thdds72xxhuhifxnseries091316na.pdf

Hikvision DS-7732NI-14/16p after firmware update cannot type user name in?

If the NVR was bought from an Australian Hikvision retailer the NVR will be locked to only accept Australian firmware updates. Loading other firmware (from the Europe site etc) will lock you out. Contacting your selling retailer to get the unlock file is your easiest option. A side point is...

Anybody try the new Hikvision ColorVu 8MP ?

Scanning quickly- 10m more light range on the "3", 10bD better WDR on the "2"... probably lots of other stuff I missed.

    Hikvision DS-7616NI-SE/P NVR Replacement

Same here. A lot of the Dahua NVR's seem to have incoming bandwidths greater than 10Mbps per channel and are readily available. I'm not sure how compatible they are/ how well they work with Hik cameras though?

    Hikvision DS-7616NI-SE/P NVR Replacement

Mine is a 7608NI-I2/8P, it does record/ decode an audio/ video stream from a camera. (I wasn't sure what you meant by "remote audio".) I've got cameras with built in mics and two with external mics that are wired back through the cameras. They all work fine. One is a Dahua with an inbuilt mic...

    Hikvision DS-7616NI-SE/P NVR Replacement

If it was me, I'd be trying to track down one of the DS-78XX series. The 16 channel versions run at 320Mbps - twice the capacity of the 76 series. https://www.hikvision.com/en/products/IP-Products/Network-Video-Recorders/Pro-Series/ds-7816nxi-i2-16p-s/ That extra capacity will help with any...

One camera only works when the other one is removed

Any chance their IP addresses have somehow ended up the same? I had that happen to my NVR after a firmware upgrade, it was working fine before the upgrade. You can unplug one working camera from the NVR ports and then run SADP on the remaining cameras via that port.

    DS-2CD2387G2-L(U)

Reducing your contrast level down can help improve shadow detail day and night (on any camera.) Try playing around with HLC for night time. If you've got something bright in the scene that can stuff up the exposure the camera calculates and make shadowed/ darker areas even darker. HLC helps to...

    DS-2CD2387G2-L(U)

You should notice a massive difference in the detail within the scene (8MP vs 2MP) Are you using the camera's onboard lighting? Some low power garden lights should give enough light. You're better off with even spread light over the entire area than one super bright flood light - that tends to...

Is anyone using Hik ColorVu cameras in a rural location with not much ambient light?

I'm running the 8MP ColorVu turret DS-2CD2387G2-LU and it replaced a DS-2CD2H35FWD-IZS (which is basically a varifocal version of the 2CD2335FWD-I -still 3MP.) I've got enough lighting that the DS-2CD2H35FWD-IZS would stay in colour. Having done a direct swap, I'm finding I can run an exposure...

    DS-7800NI-I2/P (& DS-7800NXI-I2/P) Series NVR - incoming bandwidth specs?

Hmm... Another situation where I wish I'd gone with Dahua gear. They've got plenty of NVR's that will do 20Mbps (and higher) per channel. They're even available locally- in Australia - which is unusual for most of the gear I want to buy. Network Recorders Do Dahua NVR's play nicely with...

    Hikvision colorvu overexposed image

Adjusting the HLC (High Light Control) will most likely help in that situation. Did you buy it for security reasons or to make blockbuster movies? ;) The detail in the picture looks very good and you'd be able to identify someone at your gate. The real test would be to walk up to the gate and...

Is anyone using Hik ColorVu cameras in a rural location with not much ambient light?

No one camera type will be suitable for all situations. If you've got reasonable street lighting (or are prepared to add some lighting yourself) then something like the ColorVu can work very well. I've got mine in the front yard. It would be useless in the back yard as I don't have (or want) the...

How to get Smart Event set up on camera GUI to mark the Event on the NVR's playback timeline?

I'm using V4.40.017, build 201124 and with all Events disabled on the NVR for the 8MP Colorvu I'm now getting the alert markers through on Smart playback from the camera. For some reason the detecting of the "Intrusion" with only "humans" or "vehicles" selected doesn't seem to be as accurate...

Is anyone using Hik ColorVu cameras in a rural location with not much ambient light?

You're going to need some low level area/ flood lighting for sure. From my experience try and evenly light the area to avoid poor images in shaded areas. The inbuilt lighting may be enough for a localised area. I've got an 8MP ColorVu turret covering my driveway and use various forms of...

IR not working on older camera- IR filter stuck.

A tip for anyone who may find a camera doesn't work with IR light at night, if your IR LED's are coming on it's most likely the IR filter stuck closed. I just had it happen in a 4MP DS-2CD2342WD-I that I'd been using locked in colour 24/7 for a couple of years. I pulled it apart and tried...

    DS-7800NI-I2/P (& DS-7800NXI-I2/P) Series NVR - incoming bandwidth specs?

I've experimented with H264+ and H265+ in the past. I've found issues after a while with the picture pixelating/ lose of image clarity. IIRC they recommend only to use those "+" settings with scenes that are usually static and don't have much movement? I was using variable bit rate and noticed...

    DS-7800NI-I2/P (& DS-7800NXI-I2/P) Series NVR - incoming bandwidth specs?

:) That was going to be my next question. Possibly no stock due to the semiconductor shortages? I found some old listings on Google last time I searched, but they were no longer available.

How to get Smart Event set up on camera GUI to mark the Event on the NVR's playback timeline?

Back dating to an older version has given the NVR the ability to set the recording parameters for intrusion on the new ColorVu by both max/ min size and human/ vehicle. Plus it doesn't reset the time back to 12:00am when changing between Smart/ Normal. The Smart markers are missing off the...
