I got it working using the Brave web browser. I just couldn't get it to work with firefox because it wouldn't allow the unsecure server.

OpenVPN Client in ASUS causes IP/routing conflict

Yes that’s it. I think what really confused me was not being able to access the domaine from my Firefox browser once everything was setup. They restricted access because it wasn’t secure. I’m going to try and use a different browser tomorrow and see if I can get moving forward. I will re read...

What web browser are you using?

I'm just curious what web browsers and search engines everyone is using. I'm using Firefox and duck duck go. But it seems recently I'm being not able to connect to servers, especially since I've been trying to set up the computer for my cameras, hyperlinks not working and one hell of a time with...

How many of you live in a "safe" place?

I'd say I live in a relatively safe place. Farmlands and urban sprawl. I have lived here for about 2.5 years now seems like typical hooligan crap. We have three streets in our development one is a loop street with two enterence/ exits, the other is a cul de sac. On the bottom of the hill there...

Would dual-lens be suitable for this scene?

How does that 5849 camera do with just ambient lighting. I have a 27’ driveway with a streetlight 59’ from my garage door. I have 2 barn lights on my garage doors with 60w incandescent bulbs that are typically off just to save on energy. But the street light is always on which is a sodium bulb.

Hey everybody I got the cam working. Once the kids got to sleep and I had some quite time I got it up and running in about 20 min. I just cleared everything and started from scratch. I used the config tool that came with the camera. There is a modify IP tab in the bottom left corner.

received first cam today and can't get it online

Thanks everyone. I will hopefully be able to give it another run tonight. I was way overtired last night and was just anxious to get it connected. With everyone’s help and looking back at my post from last night I see that it was using the router IP. I’ll start from scratch when I try again.

I must be overlooking something very simple here. I was just logged into my router a few weeks ago and now neither of my desktops can log into my router. I can log right in from my mobile phone WTF.

Need some help from the seasoned vets, I can't look at any more data sheets.

I have to tell you I thought the same at first too. Especially if you try and find info on you tube or just look at the main stream kits for sale. Now that I go back and look at the specs of lets say two different cameras I had thought of purchasing. The Annke C800 1/2.5 8MP and the Reolink 820A...

Well I bought them. I can't wait to test everything out. Should be fun, new pc server new cameras first time using blue iris. I will definitely be doing a bunch of test runs in different locations. I'm very curious to see how they all perform. It's one thing to read a bunch of threads and then...

I definatly referenced this graph for my decision on the 2mp and 4mp cams. It really makes things so much more easy with some basic knowledge what to look for. Plus this will be a bit of testing and tweeking between all three cams to see which ones work best for the scenario.

Wow thanks for forwarding me that thread when I get some time later tonight I’ll read through it thoroughly. I see they touched on the 5442 as well there. That was another one I was curious about. They are so highly regarded here in the bullet form. They are undoubtedly going to be in my...

That’s how our current camera works too. If there is any type of movement we get an alert. Which is fine with me. I get alerts all day long on my phone from other locations in the house as well which I actually don’t mind. It lets me know what’s going on while I’m at work especially when I’m on...

This is a nice looking unit too. I do remember looking at the comparison pictures you mentioned before. This one would be a good candidate for me to try as well with the addition of the supplemental IR light. The cost of them is fair enough for me to be willing to give them a try.

I've spent the past four days scouring this forum and Dahua's website. My eyes and brain need a break. I'm trying to find indoor cameras that check all the boxes. In ceiling mount. Trying to keep things as concealed as possible but if I can't do it so be it. Microphone Good night time...

    Vertical Mount PTZ?

You should be able to flip the camera 180° so the tilt works downward. I was just looking at the in ceiling 2mp PTZ and saw it has a 180° auto flip. I have 2 locations where I won’t be able to gain in ceiling access and will have to mount them on the wall and was wondering the same thing. Please...

Hello from Eastern USA, looking to gain knowledge so I don't waste money.

Oddly enough I'm reading your tire slashing thread as you write this. The whole reason for me pulling the trigger on this system is because of people putting nails under my tires of my vehicles. I hate suburban life and can't wait to move to acreage.

Hello from Eastern USA, looking to gain knowledge so I don't waste money.

I should be good for the time being. I'm going to start with four outdoor cams and two or three indoor. I'd like to have one or two more outside but houses close to each other and a rather large tree directly in the center of my house are going to make placement tricky. I'd love to have a plate...
