    If you are not using stored set the size to zero. Set the alerts to 5 GB, it is not really used. delete all the files in the C:\BlueIris\db folder then reboot the PC, this will rebuild the database. you will not ,loose files, but you will loose the alerts

    I have 8 cameras inside. Each door to the outside is covered by an inside camera. The kitchen,living room ,den, art room are all covered by cameras. No cameras in bedrooms or bathrooms.

    Indoor cameras

    My storage currently for 20 cameras all recording continuous is 8 TB for about 10 days. I use an internal 4TB drive for the new folder and a 4TB external USB drive for the stored folder. The cameras an a mix of 2 and 4 megapixel, some record at 8 FPS and others as at 15 FPS. I have no PTZ cameras.

    I record 24/7/365 on my 9 indoor cameras. I do not use AI for indoor cameras. Camera cover all doors from inside. All pubic areas are covered. The inside of the garage is covered. I do not cover bedrooms or bathrooms.

    If you want to keep a copy of your current continuous recorded files in Realtime, use a network drive, In BI create a clone camera of each camera you want to backup, record that camera to a network drive. I disable all processing on the clone camera. I also use the SD card on select cameras.

    Cannot achieve smooth recordings

    Provide a network diagram. Does the camera traffic pass thru your router ? The BI machine and the cameras should connect to the same switch, camera traffic does not pass thru the router. You should not use a raid for the Video files.
