    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Just finished loading the 12.17.25 firmware update to the B54PRO-Z4E. Uploading the firmware to the T54PRO-ZE now. First impression is that it looks good. Very dark outside tonight with no moon, yet the image seems to be a lot brighter with this first test. I'll plan on doing some tests tomorrow...

    Review - EmpireTech IPC-T54PRO-AS 1/1.8" CMOS 4MP WizColor

Definitely agree with you on the HLC on the B54OPRO-Z4E. Tested HLC-1 out with the Color4M-T cameras, but for them the WDR seems to work better.

Yes, you are correct. When I first started mounting my 4K-X cams I used a PFA-130E box, and it worked great. However, when I decided to swap out the 4K-X cams from time-to-time, I realized that a square box would allow me to use both 3-hole and 4-hole mounting cams (PFA-121 and PFA-122). It sure...

Maybe someone can explain this to me, because I can't figure it out. All of my cameras look the same whether I am viewing them using SmartPSSLite or with a browser on my computer. (They have the same brightness characteristics.) However, the same is not true when I am viewing the B54PRO-Z4E and...

It's a 0-6 shutter with "43" 3D-NR and "37" 2D-NR. I have a center 3000 lumen light on my garage stay on at night. 3000 lumen motion sensor lights to the left and right of the garage light; so 9000 in total if they are all on.

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I'm continuing to experiment with the B54PRO-Z4E as a LPR, until the next revision of Andy's firmware becomes available. The camera works well as a LPR. Take for instance the example of this truck driving down my driveway at 2:40am this morning. The camera picks it up, even though it is apparent...

Yeah, behind my house is a paper street; so some people use my driveway to drive to the back of their houses. That's the reason I have four cameras pointed at the driveway. (B54PRO-Z4E, Color4K-X, Color4K-T180, and PTZ4M-25X-PV)

The end of the asphalt driveway is 60 feet. After playing around with the settings, I returned it to the normal night settings for tonight, so I didn't write anything down. I just remembered reading the common settings that all of you have posted and started about 1/1000 sec. and just...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Just for fun last night, I tried the B54PRO-Z4E as a LPR. The setup position appears to be the perfect angle. The B54PRO to capture the plate and the 4K-X to identify the car in passing.

    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

Yes, my two T180's have trouble with IVS on the sides also. The center is very stable. The angle that the camera is mounted makes a difference too. If the angle is too low, IVS will often fail to trigger. It really needs to be looking down at its subject. My results were greatly improved when I...

First daytime video with the new firmware. Looks like I need to extend the lens shield out a little to eliminate some lens flare from the rising sun, but otherwise; I am impressed by this new firmware.

    IPC-Color4K-T and IPC-Color4K-T180 230227 Firmware

Regarding the firmware for the camera, I have two T180 cameras, and I am using the firmware Andy has posted on his site (2023-12-24) revision 7, but I see that there is a newer firmware for the camera listed on the Dahua site (2025-07-18) revision 25. Here are links to both: Andy's site...

distance to sign on fence? 100ft. distance to end of pavement? 60ft. close in distance where you pass the camera? 26ft. Assume you had AI-ISP disabled? Yes, disabled Sharpness and DNR settings? Sharpness=15, 3D NR=33, 2D NR=22

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I tried out the new firmware for the first time tonight, and it is a HUGE improvement. Something I noticed is that the IR is not as strong on the B54PRO-Z4E as it is on the B54IR-Z4E-S3, so to compensate, I opened the Iris to 100 (50 is the default) and set the shutter at 0-8.33ms (had been 0-4...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

I just finished swapping the B54IR-Z4E-S3 with the B54PRO-Z4E (again!), after having loaded the 11-27-25 firmware. First impression during the daytime is that the B54PRO-Z4E is much improved, especially in how it is handling noise. I have 3D NR set for 26 and 2D NR at 25. Shutter is 0-2 and gain...

    Viofo randomly shuts off?

Consistent writing and re-writing to the card will stress it, and they do not last as long as you might think. When the camera reads the error, it will often shut down or restart. Try a different card, or even switch cards from your other A229.

    Viofo A229Pro

Great camera and price. Tip for newbies: use a fiberglass fish rod to pull the wire to the back of the vehicle. Saves a lot of time and effort.

    Mini-Review EmpireTech IPC-Color4M-T

I guess I am just lucky. In the two locations where I have the Color4M-T cameras located (front entry and backyard dog play area) these cameras work better than expected with no added lights. Yesterday I swapped T54PRO-ZE and T54IR-ZE cams in their place, and it wasn't even a fair comparison...

How in the hell does one talk to Dahua??

As bigredfish stated above, they won't work with end users. When I had my first system installed by a security alarm company, there were many complications with the system because I am a Macintosh user, and the company had only worked with PC customers. So the installer was getting frustrated...

Would appreciate guidance on camera install locations

Very informative information, and it shows you are a good guy regarding pricing, etc. After a car ran through my front fence I hired the local security company to install three cameras and an NVR. I had no idea what an install would entail and cost, but then I stumbled across this forum...

    IPC-Color4K-T180 wall mount bracket

The IPC-Color4K-T180 uses the PFB203W bracket. I have modified some brackets by drilling additional holes in a non-recommended bracket, but sometimes the camera is too large for the application. Not sure if the 205W can be modified to fit this camera. If you can find the specs on a diagram of...
