    LPR camera placement

I painted the casing of my Z12 to match the house color, so as to not make it stand out as much. If you mount the camera on the tree then you can maybe paint it brown to match the bark. Another idea is to place a small plastic fake branch on top of it, to blend in and hide. Update: Something...

    Questions from a first-timer.

I like the idea of Ubiquiti Nano Stations for securely beaming LAN over the air. They have a discontinued and reasonably priced model still available on AMZN, but they require local power. So if you have a detached garage but with local power then these internet radios would be ideal...

PoE Extender - 2 Cameras on 1 Cable

The specs on my own Z12 say power consumption is 3.2W, and 10.3W with IR on. In my daytime configuration, I have the illuminator set to "ZoomPri" at 100%, and am consuming only 3.63W. The PoE splitter says the max. is 8W per device, while the splitter itself consumes <=3W. Hope this helps.

PoE Extender - 2 Cameras on 1 Cable

I have a 16 port 150W PoE managed switch. The 5.7W is the value seen on the one switch port itself, so both cameras and the splitter together are only drawing that amount. Correction: I was looking at the wrong switch port. Here's a list of the PoE power on each port. 12.59W: PTZ SD49225T-HN...

    180 degree driveway view ?

A good general plan with PTZ is to use a spotter camera which when triggered for motion causes the PTZ to move to a preset.

    180 degree driveway view ?

Another option besides a PoE switch port is to use a non-PoE switch port with an additional PoE power injector.

    UPdate: FIXED:Can not upgrade SD49225T.

Thanks, Tibbar, my PTZ is now at version "2.600.0000.2.R.R4.2510.9A.NR, Build Date: 2017-09-05" Wondering if there's any firmware update beyond 2.60 which will allow this model to do IVS tracking? Okay, I looked in my file storage and do see this RAR file from December 10, 2018, not sure if this would be one of the missing files . . . "DH_SD-Mao-Rhea_MultiLang_PN_Stream3_IVS_V2.623.0000000.7.R.1811242" @Tibbar above said the upgrade path is to use the 2.60 before the 2.62 or the 2.63.

My take is that Dahua abandoned support on this particular model. Would have liked to see if any later and valid firmware updates had provided IVS tracking capabilities before they stopped support.

So I tried to set up IVS today in my 5 yeat old Dahua PTZ, and of course the video feed never worked within the browser. So I tried to download the required plugin (NACL). Nothing happened in FF. So I tried Edge, and nothing, but then I realized it was a Chrome extension. So I downloaded and...
