I had this issue too when I used the Linux ISO from Orange PI, it would list the platform as Linux-Arm64. When it is listed as Linux-Arm64, CPAI will not let you install the RNKK modules. I was able to get it working when I switched to Joshua's ISO, and in CPAI, it will show the platform as... -

I'm running 24.04, yeah, it should work fine with the Ultra. I'm running the desktop version, I think the only difference is that the server doesnt come with some apps and X. -

No complaints, it's running very well. Don't let Docker scare you, it's not that hard to learn, and you can install something like Portainer to manage it via a web interface. -

Okay, login problem solved, but I am not sure why, maybe someone with a bit more knowledge can explain. CPAI was in a wedged state. CPAI was running, but the ALPR module was dead, once I started it, I was able to login again, no more error. This is very odd because I have used the database...- PeteJ

Yes, there is a way to backup and restore the database, but it's very manual. To backup a database: pg_dump -U postgres -d postgres > dump-filename.sql To restore it, the DB should be empty, so drop it: dropdb -U postgres postgres and then create an empty database: createdb -U postgres...- PeteJ

In the restricted shell, you might want to see if IR cut on/off helps. I doubt it tho, but probably wouldn't hurt to try. Does your camera require POE+ or POE++? My camera requires POE++, and it works fine as long as the IRs are off, or if the PTZ controls are not being used. With 23W of... -

The failure is very strange, these cameras do not have a backup firmware, so if you corrupt the flash, the camera normally just wont boot, and you'd have to use the serial interface to try to restore it (I think it would tftp firmware from the local network once you have the IP configured). -

I haven't had this happened, but for a while BI would randomly crash. Not the entire computer, just BI. Nothing in the logs. You may want to monitor system resources and see if you are running out of mem or something. Some users have reported mem leak in CPAI, and they've resorted to...- PeteJ

I think it might depends on version of rpi. I am running both the database and codeproject on the same RK3588 (16G, nvme ssd) and it works flawlessly. The RK3588 is probably similar to a pi5 in performance.- PeteJ

Can BI take audio stream from a different camera?
I have some cameras that do not have a built in mic, but they are installed at a location with other cameras that do have audio. Would it be possible for BI to "import" the audio from one of those cameras in real time as it records the video? -

Algertc ALPR database and VPNs
I don't use Tailscale so I am not sure exactly what's involved, but one thing you should confirm is connectivity between BI to CPAI and BI to ALPRDB. Not just ping, you should verify tcp connectivity since Tailscale might be looking at layer 4 info.
