    Hmm, if you have set the static using the mac, then maybe set the nvr to dhcp, that way it should get the right context for the network I would not attempt VPN till you have the basics right

    1. Run SADP and see if that will see them 2. If you are 'sure' that is the ip of the unit, can you use a web browser to see them? And you don't kneed to block out the ip's, they are locally routed and not of use to any potential hacker.

    Hikvision Be aware if you do go for a PTZ that it may need additional IR lighting for decent night use, not all PTZ units have on board, and on a dome the placement may induce issues with IR bounce back from walls etc. I moved mine and replaced it with a Turret and am happy I did.

    Yup, figured that, it was more that it was pointing to a possible DNS issue, so maybe have a look at what settings they have for the dns under the vpn section, and I will have another look at the vid you suggested to see if it makes sense to me

    On an ASUS router there is a setting to restrict access to 'INTRANET' Could your router possibly have a similar setting? I found this out when the EXACT same symptoms occurred, WAN access fine, local nope, think this one was under wifi settings

    I'm sorry but you are confusing the hell out of me. What do you mean by HD? High Definition Post the details of your kit, model numbers etc, then we can figure out what you mean. If the cameras have an ethernet cable going to them, then it is a good bet they are IP cameras
