Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Thank you, I will add this to my list  :thumb: I've got new toy fatigue now so leaving the two new ones running overnight, see what the daylight brings, spent about 10 minutes on the S3 and 2 hours on the 54Pro  OK, went back to check something, even though I have shutter at...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Updated post above with system info. Grid is bizarre, I am running in shutter priority tonight, got to get a grip on the profile situation!!

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Holy smokes, the 54Pro ZE is running as is the S3, the S3 is as expected for the most part, nice step up from the earlier 5442. The 54Pro, initially is like an explosion of settings and options, this is going to be interesting! Working mode I need to dig around some more, Self Adaptive seems so...

Less sharpness in T54PRO-ZE (versus 5442-S3) possibly due to noise reduction being applied even if set to ZERO?

54Pro ZE, 5442 S3 and 4K-T 8MP which is coming later this week. The 54Pro and S3 are installed as of the last few hours, setting up now and will give some feedback later today (evening now) which will be based on night image quality. Got my head around the new UI now...just about, looking as...

Less sharpness in T54PRO-ZE (versus 5442-S3) possibly due to noise reduction being applied even if set to ZERO?

I was thinking this also in relation to your comments re the driveway and road in your samples @alekk and to my eyes I am sure there has to be a loss of surface detail/smearing on the paving, brickwork and vertical slabs. This would potentially translate elsewhere but maybe more noticeable in...

Less sharpness in T54PRO-ZE (versus 5442-S3) possibly due to noise reduction being applied even if set to ZERO?

Appreciate the feedback and update, sounds like waiting for another firmware update at some point. Should I stick with 0731 at this point when mine arrives?

    Mini-Review - 5442-Z4E-S3 AKA B54IR-Z4E S3 - Replacement to the 5442-Z4E

This has to stop, I ordered a Z12E then decided to pickup the Z4E-S3, based on this thread I will be getting another one to replace the existing Z12E. Some very impressive images even at 60+ feet, I was concerned about one reaching 30-40 feet :wow: Could be some redundant Z12's before the year...

Feel free to post some night clips if you have the time, maybe some with IR and/or LED :thumb:

Less sharpness in T54PRO-ZE (versus 5442-S3) possibly due to noise reduction being applied even if set to ZERO?

This has to be worth a try, mine are arriving tomorrow potentially, I will do a sort of mini review of initial findings so as not to clog up this thread maybe?! I guess NR, Gain and Gamma have to be worth a shot.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Thanks, that looks pretty good, maybe tiny drop in sharpness when the bike and rider is moving, not much though, writing on the bike looks reasonably good! I think maybe try dropping NR and possibly even try reducing the gain, there looks to be slight over exposure on the bike bag lid, marginal...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Have you tried pushing sharpness up out of interest, a theory was thrown out there that these are somewhat soft out the box. Pretty good, but for that shutter speed the person doesn't look as sharp as the van wheel for example? or is that just me. Thank you for posting, keep them coming :thumb...

Less sharpness in T54PRO-ZE (versus 5442-S3) possibly due to noise reduction being applied even if set to ZERO?

So far it seems the 54Pro needs more adjustment to begin dialling it in, from current feedback at least. Should get mine running before end of the week, then I can begin tweaking. Of course it is normally the moving objects which matter as @steve1225 says above, but of course static gives us or...

Improve night motion image - HFW5842E-Z4E

Impressive and very useful, got one of these coming and 55-60ft is about target range

Improve night motion image - HFW5842E-Z4E

Honestly these look pretty good to me, I would not worry too much, especially considering sensor size. Others have given good advice :thumb:

Less sharpness in T54PRO-ZE (versus 5442-S3) possibly due to noise reduction being applied even if set to ZERO?

Oh dear, disappointing, wonder how much can be resolved on the firmware side. With Pro in the name, it needs to have some kind of performance advantage!

Less sharpness in T54PRO-ZE (versus 5442-S3) possibly due to noise reduction being applied even if set to ZERO?

Is it too early to tell if the 54Pro can produce better images, I sincerely hope so, or even equal for that matter! Now I feel like should have taken more advice from @steve1225 before jumping into the three of the 54Pro ZE! - appreciate your knowledge on this matter  I asked you know...

Less sharpness in T54PRO-ZE (versus 5442-S3) possibly due to noise reduction being applied even if set to ZERO?

Well, this is a good one, thanks for posting. Agree with pretty much all your findings, the 54Pro almost looks soft in the centre and sharper at the edges, this is totally the opposite of what you would expect with a lens! almost hope you have a bad sample here honestly, or some misalignment...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Is running H264 an option in that camera or only H264H? normally I find H264 seems to give more consistent results, again, just my findings. Seems that for my 5442's 10000-12000kb is a good place to be.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Well I hope the 54Pro is not too bad! and guess it is very early days yet, surely it can surpass the S3 or at least match it. I've got a good selection coming my way now to test including 4K-T and 5442-S3 bullet, along with the 54Pro ZE, see if there is any noticeable sample variation. Then wish...

Second image looks brighter at the extreme back, more processed somehow though and less detail on the t-shirt.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I would like to see some open field image with the 4kt and onboard only LED's, been digging around, probably not well enough, also not trying to derail this thread which is 54Pro type only :thumb:

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

That is a very nice image for 4ms shutter, the obvious question, how does this look with the onboard lights, is that what you mean by flood light I am assuming, hence triggered by the IVS, more pictures please would be fantastic :) The two locations I am planning these for they can have the...

    Dahua 5442/T54IR vs the rest

Getting off track a bit here, but how much better is the warm lighting on the IPC-Color4K-T 8MP cameras vs the turrets, 2 LED vs 4 LED and about 3-4watts difference it appears? normally I would prefer bullets for this reason but turrets look a bit less imposing!

Long range (25-30m) bullet IR only

Yes in theory it has, somehow those damn 49225's seem to out perform their on paper spec, always been my best 2MP camera at night, until the 5442's of course! Well I will see how the Z12E works out with lower shutter, then maybe look into IR illuminator or just settle for a 5442 bullet with the...

Long range (25-30m) bullet IR only

Yes, sorry about that! never crossed my mind about the IR issue, already ordered a Z12E for the job so maybe will just have to test, as you say drop the shutter down to sub 1/100. The PTZ's really spoil you for range with the IR, wish they would make a 5442 with more than 30mm zoom in a bullet...

Long range (25-30m) bullet IR only

Sadly not, well, kind of during the day (backup for the Z12E) but at night it is just for observation, not official LPR, I have a Z12E for that already, day and night.

Long range (25-30m) bullet IR only

Question, I have been using a PTZ 49225 which I would like to switch for a bullet, the PTZ has mostly been static, hence the reason for switching, seems a waste. Now the problem is that the PTZ has powerful IR, most bullets are 60m max IR, which in the real world is less than the PTZ. The IR on...

    Dahua 5442/T54IR vs the rest

I liked it more when they had 5442 somewhere in the name, at least then I knew life would be good regardless of what came before or after :lmao: - joking aside I'm learning more each day with these new camera models, mostly thanks to the knowledgeable folks on here such as @bigredfish...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Sorry, wasn't trying to double up, possibly hadn't seen yours at that point  Yes shutter priority can work better in some locations than other, also could be camera specific to some degree, I use it on a couple of mine, other are full manual.
