Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I will reserve full judgement until I have done some further testing, also keep in mind a lot of people will be using this in locations with some ambient light, also countries with more sunshine! those two things will make quite a difference in favour of the 54Pro, particularly with colour at...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

I figured it was too good to pass, maybe should have gone with the bullet for closer focus and depth of field, turrets always looks cleaner on the front of a house. Seems like a lot of camera for the money, I doubt those sensors are cheap compared to others Dahua use.

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Thanks, I guess it is all relative, a slightly out of focus 8MP image could look reasonable compared to a mostly in focus 4MP image. I am trying to talk myself into the 4K-T here  In all seriousness, for a full body shot someone would normally be around 6-8ft or even 8-10ft away from...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Well in my recent random buying spree, I picked up two of these in turret 2.8mm format. Decided why not try them on the two main doorways, covered by additional floodlights. In the real world, is the close focus distance a show stopper compared to the usual suspects. @Wildcat_1 Superb videos...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Due to sensitive location of these cameras I will likely not be posting samples, this will not go down well as understandably people like to see samples! myself included. But, I am carrying out thorough testing and evaluation, my findings will be logged on here for others. My testing is...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Well I didn't get around to IR testing this beast yet, had another night of colour tuning! It is growing on me already, could be a bit overwhelming for some but I like having those options. One thing is quite clear though, this is not uncommon, but running auto settings on this model will not...

There must be a thread somewhere surely, I did wonder, probably best not derail this one more than I did already!

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Been there, done that  It would also appear you could be in running for most number of active cameras, not a bad collection I would say, aside from that junk 4K-T :wow:

Great clip of the heron! looks good to me and as expected. Mine will both be covered by backup lights and also plenty light coloured walls to bounce the light off, mainly to cover front and rear doors, people only. Thanks for taking time to post these as always :thumb:

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Might as well write off all my new cameras :wow:  On a lighter note, my new 4K-T cameras will be placed where they have backup 4000+ lumen floods, subjects will be within 6-8 metres and I am more than happy with sample videos I have seen, including these fine examples from @bigredfish...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

This is good in many ways, but also feels like I just paid to run around a hamster wheel  - might have to trade two of mine for S3 or 4K-T until the noise settles and they sharpen the firmware :wow::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: All jokes aside...kind of! it does look like this was let out...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Yes indeed, as per @steve1225 and now your suggestions, I have been running sub 10 NR, in fact I had it off earlier, surprising if you tune the image with it off how little you need, NR 1 for both knocked any noise out when I was at that stage! Side note, this camera is not so soft if you get...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

No AFSA that I can see, thought that was my lifeline for a minute :lmao: but with that said I am now on 0-3.5ms shutter and 40 gain with NR on 9 for both, although this is dark image, it is without ghosting, of course some noise but also pretty easy to ID vehicle and of course colour. Still...

Might give that a go, tried dropping to 15 during daytime testing, no difference I could see, at this point, I will take anything I can get!

100% at the moment, still experimenting, zooming out I am sure does help, variable aperture? nothing in the specs but it could be.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Yeah, I know, got 4000-6000 lumen floods where I can, sadly not an option for this one, heading towards IR being turned on I can see.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Due to the road running close to the property it is a tough call, this camera is about 20 feet up looking down, so is more like a street light. Getting other ambient here will be tough but the planned 4K-T would be 'ground' level and about 15 feet from road, which might help somewhat. Any other...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I do have the iris wide open at this point, during the day not so much. Thanks for flagging, I am really fighting for light here, this is not a critical camera, more an overview, so I can suffer the quality if it gets me vehicle ID and colour I guess. During the day I find this camera was...

That is great, thank you kindly, your knowledge is most welcome here, please do not leave anytime soon! OK, I will actually try 3D noise off altogether to experiment, this was on my list of things to try tonight! then adjust gain and exposure, trying to keep shutter between 2-4ms if possible...

SMD is off, I have had MD on for some testing since IVS has been a bit poor for some reason, normally it is OK. What problems does the MD and SMD cause?

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Sensitive location so not easy to screenshot. Essentially a 30% opacity duplicate of the vehicle rear end offset from the back of said vehicle, sometimes this 'ghosting' effect also happens where a similar duplicate also shows the front bumper overlayed onto the front part of the car bonnet...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

That is good to know, I can happily report it doesn't actually make much difference in the real world, at least not on the 54Pro during the day at least :thumb: So for a scene with passing vehicles taking approximately 25-30% of the image, my sub problems are not enough light and ghosting in...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Current day settings if anyone interested, dropping the gamma might have just made quite a difference to stop motion! Smooth stream I keep switching to test, feel like clear is winning for now, smooth might work better at night, find out later.... Anyone has any hot tips for eliminating the...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Historically I would go full manual, but, I have found on this 54Pro and also my 5442 bullet that shutter priority can work in favour, without degrading the image. The light is starting to drop here now and I can see the freeze frame starting to slip on the 54Pro, the 5442 still holding up OK...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I have tried zooming out to approximately 30% zoom and it really makes no difference to freezing the action, I am not sure if this is a fixed f1.6 aperture at all zoom lengths, have to assume it is. The sun has come out and that helps a bit but seriously I am struggling like mad to get stop...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Purely based on what I have seen so far at night in colour, get your shutter down to below 0-3ms or 0-4ms if you can, or roughly 1/333 to 1/250, depending on light levels, the scene above could probably get away with slightly slower potentially.

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

OK, some initial thoughts from the last 16 hours or so testing the 54Pro ZE, before the good stuff goes out of my head! The LED and IR still images at night are pretty insane, this has been noted already, no doubt about it, also the LED's are quite bright, this is nice. Last night I focused...
