Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Other than colour, struggle to see any meaningful difference there, maybe the grass has touch more detail on 827, but looks like 827 also overexposes in places. Out of interest, do you plan to run these in colour overnight?

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I can 100% concur with this, testing the new beta firmware 1022 with NR toggled on but both sliders set to 0 there is a noticeable addition of noise reduction. At night and during the day I am now setting both the 54Pro and 4K-T to disable NR altogether and tuning gain/shutter from there, also...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Smart phone cameras must have serious development behind them, I often wonder if they focus on those and the sensors in Sony/Canon/Nikon/Olympus brands almost get left as an after thought. Maybe it works the other way also, above my paygrade that one, I assume it is driven by profits and demand...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

See my previous post with no related images, I have tried 0-3ms with NR off, I have been running NR toggled off for the last three days now during daylight hours. Currently set to 0.5ms and freeze motion is pretty good, even in overcast conditions on both running 54ProZE's, for vehicles and...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Some great wildlife shots can surely be caught on cctv cams, your heron footage was superb! some nice wildlife you have there also. My PTZ has got some great captures that I wish could have been witnessed with proper photography kit. Yes the light changes by the second in many cases, still the...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Yes thanks for the tip, I have NR toggled off at the moment, tried it on with 0, and various other settings. Nice bird in flight shot there, I like the challenge of BIF, also static, big photography fan here :thumb: Don't have any of my better/bigger/sharper birds snaps to hand but technique...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Thanks for responding, well as of yesterday I now have another 54Pro covering people walking at slow speed, distance 15 feet on full zoom (ZE), my second is covering vehicles moving cross scene at 25-30mph. Normally I totally agree that most cameras in the past will guarantee stop motion at sub...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Question, I switched both my installed cameras to 1022, if I also try one of them with the Dahua 0827 firmware, assume I can still upgrade or downgrade to 1022 and/or 731 ? What are thoughts on the 827 firmware, I noted a couple of people using it, mentions of Ai being better. I am...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I have one of my 54Pro's on the new 1022 firmware now, it is in a 'normal position' capturing people only. Will report my findings, for now though the 'freeze motion' situation is the same, which I think was not targeted in this update. Hence I am requiring shutter below 2ms to properly freeze a...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Thanks for posting these, I have been tied up replacing two other cameras today, more on that later. Drive and road does look to have slightly more detail, the railings on that property back right seem over exposed and/or less detailed in the 1022, but brighter in general with the new firmware...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Superb words of wisdom right here in my opinion. I also prefer to mount low as possible unless something like a PTZ, with turrets and bullets I will usually go just out of reach (do have some lower), which for me is around 8-10 feet max. Nobody ever got a good ID from the top of someone's head...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

That is great thank you, another purchase then! looks like this is running the older UI, the 4K-T recently acquired uses the newer interface.

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Very limited use so far but with a 4K-T 2.8mm mounted around 8-10 feet high, I would say focus on a person 7-10ft distance can still be better than my previous 5442 2.8mm turret (similar to S3), even though technically the 4K-T isn't perfectly in focus! I guess due to the 8MP effect. Seems like...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Question, does the 4K-X bullet variant have LED's for both near and far, ie are these controlled separately in the UI or simply just adjustment for all four together? Wondering because I might try one or even the turret with some sort of DIY shield to stop wide glare, depending on the control or...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

I am already planning a location for another, the shock of how well this performs under zero light with onboard LED's is crazy, once the floodlight kicks in...:wow: Can very well understand people buying more of these once they see the output. Guess I should reserve judgement on the close...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Ok, no problem, I will leave alone for now. Just seen comments on wind noise, that could make sense, I will add some foam on each mic to test that tomorrow. It is actually fine, now I realised the source of the noise :rofl: see above post - actually seems very sensitive compared to...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

My new 4K-T is running firmware V3.140.0000000.32.R, Build Date: 2025-01-15, is it safer to stay on this or upgrade to latest 0.38 I have read quite a bit of the thread, so should probably go back over it, being lazy. Only immediate thing I notice is the mic sounds a bit like water being poured...

OK, headlamp, raining, dark, but the need to fit the new 4K-T was too great! not seen it in the daylight yet but oh my goodness, quite incredible first impression  :wow::wow::wow::wow::wow::wow::love:

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

That is very fair comment, the position of this camera makes it difficult sadly. My idea of freeze frame is identical quality to static objects in the scene, being able to see the detail on a tyre wall and tread pattern at 25 feet with the vehicle passing at 30-35mph. I will maybe just feed info...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

I am trying not to be too brutal believe it or not, this new camera is just that, new, and as such I am testing it thoroughly, I own 20+ Dahua cameras, just purchased 8 in the last two weeks and recommend to others. I want this to work as much as anyone, hence I am feeding back what I can. My...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Another night of testing in both IR and then full colour with LED's. Not much new to report, lots of fine tuning with both options, even with IR it is a struggle to get freeze frame I would prefer, might well swap in a 5442 bullet and remind myself how the IR works for that in this location. I...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

Get the NR down below 25 and see how it looks, maybe even below 20 if you can. Shutter still too high on manual settings, needs to be 0-6ms or less, ideally 0-4, also lowering gain will help. Getting the porch and street will be a struggle in colour with different lighting, stick with IR for...

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

Interesting, no lux levels listed. But as per @flynreelow said, my money would be going elsewhere. Normally UI are not so cheap, this seems OK if that lens price is correct.

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

The more I think about this, makes me realise how great it would be to have a $500 large sensor, low light camera, particularly one which was able to run with IR and not just colour only at night. Is there nothing else close to these 8MP models right now for sensible money. What budget do you...

Motion sharpness? if so, put your shutter as fast as it will go and report back... 0-1ms or even 0-0.5ms but certainly 0-2ms to test, if not tried already. I am seeing similar, same settings on the Pro will not mirror results from the 5442 series, it needs faster shutter.

    Worlds First Review - Dahua DH-IPC-HDW5849H-ASE-LED / IPC-Color4K-T - 2.8mm Turret

If a camera existed which had a large sensor like the 4K-T, Sony would be nice, personally I would happily pay $300-400 for that low light monster, all day long. There are certain cases where I might even stretch to $500 if the output was worth the cost. I guess the problem is demand, most...
