Database Repair - Seeing Red Again and Again

Blue Iris used to be very stable, but for the past 6 months or so, I've had to delete the DB folder and rebuild the database. This has happened at least 4 times now. I'll upgrade to the latest stable version, thinking there was a repair somewhere in the version, and a month later the database is...

OpenALPR Tool - Save and Query CSV Exports

Considering the PlateRecognizer (PR), as I understand, it only inserts an entry into the BI log file. It would be an easy task to open the log file and parse for these plates, and enter them into the database. Or if the need was just to collect unique plates then to look up for the plate and...

OpenALPR Tool - Save and Query CSV Exports

What I like about the Rekor ALPR is that it works really well capturing plates and identifying different state license plates. The PlateRecognizer misses almost half of the plates on my street, and I understand that to improve the capture rate it would require some adjustments on the BI camera's...

    LPR for 160m/540f

Thanks for the link. The Linovision splitter should work well, as one port allows for 8W and the other for 16W. The IR emitter is rated at 11W. I do have a 120V AC outlet not too far from where the camera and old emitter are under the eaves, so your PoE injector would work okay if it were...

    LPR for 160m/540f

Sorry I don't follow the suggestion on going premium, CCTVCam. Is the concern that a splitter would be used? Or the model of splitter? I hope the wattage will be okay, as I have a PTZ camera drawing 12.5 to 16W on another port.

Thanks Robert, I went ahead and ordered the 11e model with this PoE splitter: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HSN5YSK

    LPR for 160m/540f

I am thinking of getting this Axton model 11e using 10 degrees for 540 feet, which uses PoE, but am wondering if an AC adapter can be used in lieu of getting a splitter for PoE? My camera now draws less than 3W, so this 11W IR emitter should be okay with my Ubiquiti PoE port...

New to LPR? Considerations Before You Begin

You have a great view of the street. I would suggest zooming as much as possible so as to still capture both lanes. Go out to 200-250 feet, and don't worry about the gutters. You just need the plates, and the two plates ought not be more than 15' apart from each other.

New to LPR? Considerations Before You Begin

97JeepXJ, did you integrate the pulse mode with your Z12? The 850nm light reaching 540 feet, and ideally the camera shutter would allow a quick pulse from a trigger event, so as to not disturb the neighbors, seeing a big red eye all the time.

New to LPR? Considerations Before You Begin

The product says "Pulsed mode allows syncing with a camera shutter for industrial, machine vision, and ANPR/LPR applications. " I wonder how that would work? Also, would this product allow for a local 120v power source? Guess I'm still hoping for the white light strobe which is supposed to be...

Okay, so I guess when digital plates become required and are ubiquitous, some people will try to scrape off their reflective coating. ;-)

    repair/regenerate database

So the DB was repaired yesterday, and today there's no clips or alerts listed. I just now reverted back to version 5.6.5.9, and will try again at repair.

    repair/regenerate database

Not sure why, but the alerts and clips disappeared again and had to be restored by repairing the database. There was no update since 5.6.6.1, or any changes, so it's a mystery why the database gets lost.

    repair/regenerate database

In my case, the problem happened after an update to BI, and repairing the DB didn't help until I updated BI again the next day to the newest critical update (5.6.6.1), deleted the DB folder, and then repaired the DB again.

    repair/regenerate database

In my case, the clip storage is showing way over-allocation on the drives. I tried to repair the database to no avail. Update: I see that the All Clips history is generating, now at 2% for Aux4. Update: All the clips and alerts are back in place, and the clip storage is back to normal; after...

Blue Iris Tools - Weather Overlay, Watchdog & more!

Wondering if there's a way to get a latitude/longitude overlay? There's some real time GPS location sharing mobile apps which have POST methods to any base URL and end point and at any interval. Someone in the LPR forum was asking how to store location data when collecting parked plates from a...

How to record location data on mobile LPR?

I see this Google Play app: "Realtime Location API" although I am unsure how it would work with BlueIris . . . it purports to post location data to a server of your choice and at quick intervals . . . https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.digitalrevolution.gpstransmitter

How to record location data on mobile LPR?

A better idea, although I am unfamiliar with the process, but there's a feature within BlueIris to embed data such as the humidity, temperature, etc., from some external WAN weather source, onto the captured images. The need would be to find a way to get the lat/long coordinates from either the...

How to record location data on mobile LPR?

Another idea is to have a second wide angle camera to record the terrain as you drive around. There will be timestamps on the wider spotter camera's stream which you could correlate to the LPR capture's embedded timestamp. It would at least allow you to investigate locations afterwards, although...

How to record location data on mobile LPR?

Since you indicate the LPR is mobile, it makes me think you are wanting to drive around and record a lot of plates along a street, and somehow tag each collected plate with its location, all automatically and quickly. The police can do this sort of data collection from their cruisers. Your...

How to record location data on mobile LPR?

Not clear how often you need to acquire GPS data, but in Google Maps on your mobile device, you can long-press on a map location, and then click on the "Share" icon, and then select the "Copy to Clipboard" option. Then paste it into an email you are composing or a OneNote, etc. It will only give...

Have your home automation trigger BI. Use the BI's On Alert function to send an email to your upcoming PushOver.net account. It can use email to send out a text message. I also use the same On Alert function to email me an image of the gate opening. No need for UI3.
