I am kind of expecting v6 to be the least significant major version update yet, with some of its "new features" having already rolled out in version 5.9.9.x. Like the clip database which he said is version 6. And the upping of the camera limit to 128. There's not a huge financial incentive... -

Yup I confirm 5.9.9.80 has fixed it for me too. Downloading the update file took ages because Blue Iris's web hosting infrastructure is very basic, probably just one server with a gigabit network connection or something. -

This is a known issue in the latest version of Blue Iris which was released yesterday. You can downgrade to the previous version or just live with it until they fix it. It is advisable to not let Blue Iris install updates automatically, or at least allow only critical and highly stable updates. -

Fifth Dahua Camera and I cannot get this one to initialize...
Nobody wants to run another cable out to their camera. It'd be cleaner to just get an 802.3bt PoE injector for $30-40 USD if a PoE switch of appropriate spec is too expensive. Plenty of capable PoE switches here: Ubiquiti Store And it is really hard to beat their PoE injectors too: UniFi PoE++...- bp2008

People really set up something like that and then can't be bothered to use cables for video transmission? I see the appeal of doing it with PoE IP cameras. I hope this new database version puts an end to all the DB corruption and storage allocation issues BI has had over the years. Here's a thought. It is a long shot. Are you by chance recording to MP4 files or any other file type that is not "BVR"? MP4 playback issues are really common. BVR, being the default and most powerful option, is the only one that gets much testing. -

Also look in Blue Iris's log to see if any errors are getting logged. I wonder if Blue Iris might actually be crashing and restarting itself. -

I want to say it could be a video encoder issue, but I have no idea what you could have changed to make it behave that way. Maybe enabled hardware acceleration and it is buggy? Try going to BI settings > Web server > Advanced, and edit the "Streaming 0" configuration and reset it to defaults... -

Per-camera event sounds are not available in UI3. It would certainly be possible to implement (as I already did per-camera icon overlays), but I haven't gotten around to it. Although you could still make it happen by setting up an MQTT server (Eclipse Mosquitto) and use on-alert events in Blue... -

It would be a good test to connect via 127.0.0.1 on the BI server machine. Is the CPU and memory usage very low on that server? Like 30% or below on CPU, 80% or below on RAM? I never used NIC teaming so I don't know if that could be a problem. But if you connect via 127.0.0.1 I would think... -

Very confused by the Time line.
The clip database can get corrupted pretty easily (particularly if your BI crashes very often), and that can have all manner of strange effects making clips or alerts not appear. Check your storage status and make sure there's no overallocation happening -- that is sometimes a sign of database...- bp2008

The timeline in Blue Iris 5 still works quite similarly to how it did in Blue Iris 4. Just looks a little different but otherwise works very similarly. The colored bars on the timeline show time spans where there is a video clip from a camera with that color. HOWEVER it appears you are using...- bp2008

Yup, the only real issue is the bandwidth usage. Every 1 Mbps of bit rate is about 330 gigabytes of data every month. So this will probably put you in the top 0.1% of bandwidth users on both ends (both ISPs). For 24/7 remote streaming, I recommend using very strong compression. E.g. 1 Mbps...- bp2008

Your goal is clear, but we need screenshots of exactly what you're doing to try to make it happen, so we can identify what is wrong. I know Blue Iris has an "/admin? command" action that can be activated upon camera trigger. I don't know if that requires the web server to be enabled or not... -

Camera works great on Main stream only, adding Sub stream screws up the Main stream!
It now sounds like it is probably an issue of every iframe causing a stutter, which is also an issue sometimes in Blue Iris for reasons I don't entirely understand (something to do with i-frames either taking unexpectedly long for the camera to encode, or for Blue Iris to decode). Weird. 3 Mbps is not really a high bit rate so I wouldn't expect it to cause problems. Anyway I'd recommend trying higher bit rates too instead of just lower ones. If you don't record the main stream continuously, then it can even be advisable to set it super high so you have all the quality...- bp2008
