    Not to be controversial, and I am by no means good at IPv6, but... OK, but this does mean firewall rules will be needed on the remote side (cameras) firewalls, to allow the BI traffic to get to the camera. Unless you have a really terrible firewall that passes inbound IPv6 by default (scary!)...

    And the new camera dialog is messed up. EDIT: The Windows Search UI also suffers from a similar problem on this box, over RDP (the start menu is fine though): So maybe a Windows issue. Funny that it only affects certain components (both in Windows and BI) - some UI elements are fine.

    I have just done a clean install of BI 6 in a Server 2022 VM, and have a similar issue - except in my case, the scaling seems fine, but I have the same weird font in the dialog boxes!

    OK, will do that, although I can only install the driver after passing through the GPU obviously (haven't done that yet). Also the "latest" driver from NVIDIA is still from about 2018, and for a slightly older OS version, but I am hoping it'll work OK.

    Yes. I am going to try and setup BI to use internal IVS where possibly - haven't got that far yet, still installing BI on the server. I would like to have the capability to run AI on the server though, for cases where the camera doesn't support what I need.

    I think I will try it. I am more worried that the models will fail to run due to the age of the card / low compute capability (2.0), rather than just slow detection times. Does look like used GPUs are available quite cheaply, which have a higher compute rating...

    Yes :) From memory its a 2.8-12mm varifocal. So not a very long focal length at all by LPR standards, but the distance isn't too bad (40ft max, then the vehicles will get a lot closer, although they may start to turn sooner or later). Exactly!     Very good point, I will certainly do that. I am using ZFS to mirror two SSD's for PVE and VM OS disks etc. And then I am thinking I will probably passthrough any dedicated BI video storage disks to BI VM. I also keep meaning to, while I have the server case open, disconnect 1 of the two SSD's...

    If I understand correctly, this will only if is your NVR acts as a router between it's LAN and it's POE ports. I have no idea if it will do this. This is a good suggestion. I doubt it even depends on the the virtual host feature - it just pulls the streams from the NVR, not the cameras...

    After ordering a SAS Controller, I have just found an LSI LS2-SAS9240-8i laying around which I can use. Untested, but I assume it works. I may cancel my order for the other one. Anyone know how one can switch these LSI cards between RAID and IT / JBOD mode?
