DO NOT BUY: LG’s Spyware TVs, Monitors, and Wiretapping Concerns

I have a newer Sony and Vizio TV. Neither is connected to the Internet and serves as a monitor for a satellite receiver, TIVO, or Roku. Hopefully this crap isn't sophisticated enough to send TV-generated spy info over HDMI to one of these devices that then forwards it on to the mother ship. I...

I'm jealous. I'd like to have a ZTR mower but with the lawn tractor still going strong it's too hard to part with the $. A good ZTR costs at least 20 541Rs, about 30 for the one I'd want. All the pros use them, without exception as far as I can see.

I believe the firmware for the fixed focal and ZE is the same. Even the same for the -PRO cameras. But do verify this.

Do I have a defective IPC-B52IR-Z12E ? It refuses to allow resetting of the generic IP

After you initialize the camera, go to Search Setting and enter the Username/Password you set the camera to. Then try to change the IP. It "should" work. (this info for configTool) The newer versions display a warning to do this after you initialize the camera, but it's easy to miss and...

What firmware does yours have? I'm running V3.146.0000000.6.R, Build Date: 2026-04-01 on a 6mm version. As far as I can tell, you're the 2nd person in the world to have one of these :).

Do I have a defective IPC-B52IR-Z12E ? It refuses to allow resetting of the generic IP

Are you changing the password in configTool after initializing the camera? This is a big gotcha in configTool, until you learn it the hard way, then it's a nothingburger.

I had a couple of possible disasters with my compact tractor that fortunately were averted in time. 1. When I was a newbie, I tried to lift a very heavy rock with the bucket. As I kept trying to raise the bucket the rock never moved, and I finally discovered that the rear wheels were off the...

    What's Up With Boeing?

Absolutely no intent of making light of the situation with this post. Why the heck don't journalists need to know basic grammar? "Maksimović recalled how she unbuckled her seatbelt and grabbed him with another female passenger. " And nice description by Ryanair that the window "dislodged"...

Not disagreeing, just pointing out that it also applies to the other side of the uniparty, and bundling bills that can't pass on their own has been routine business as far back as I'm able to remember. The parties play tag team over who's the worst one. In the end, they're both corrupt...

    What's Up With Boeing?

A good debate question. If a defective tire fails on a new car, I wouldn't blame the car manufacturer if the tire specs were appropriate for the car. In the past I had a Chrysler vehicle built with a Mitsubishi engine. These engines had a problem with leaking valve seals., and I have a harder...

I don't think the US government will default in the sense of not paying debts or liabilities. It will just pay them off with highly depreciated dollars. No need to default when you can create unlimited money out of nothing.

    US Elections (& Politics) :)

I couldn't begin to know if situations like this could change the result of big elections, but what about mayoral and school board elections that are often close enough that a few fraudulent votes would change the result? I've seen reports of certain ethnic groups taking over school boards and...

This is a dilemma. If just about anybody else said this I'd agree, but Krugman is right up there with Cramer for accuracy. So even though I think he's correct, my krugman derangement syndrome has to say that crypto is wonderful, will end war forever, and cure cancer.

Is the regime in Iran soon to be toast?

The standard gas stop for me was "Two dollars regular, please", which would have been a bit over 6 gallons. I don't remember if that got a free Sunday paper or drinking glass, or if that took a fillup. I've said for a long time that we never should have taken oil from the Middle East. We...

I didn't see the video until you pointed it out. You and bigred are correct, and I'll be eating crow after I pull my foot out of my mouth. I agree it's disgusting, right in line with the mocking he did against the republican primary opponents the first time around. After his mocking of Rubio...

It's totally unfair to use a single still frame to claim someone is mocking, making obscene expressions, nazi salutes, etc. Anybody who is talking on video will have cherry-pickable ugly looking still frames just from the talking, moving hands around, moving body around, etc. Doesn't even need...

    Camera IPs need changed

But configTool does work to change IP addresses, doesn't it.? And the ease of using it might be in the eye of the beholder, and could be biased by what the user already has experience with, no? And for somebody with only dahua cameras, it doesn't matter that it's not usable on other brands...

My point is that there isn't any data from Wisconsin to be able to say that voter fraud is insignificant, and they're not making any attempt to find out. Only taking the time to find a few. Lots more searching for "site:x.com covid shot safe and effective", and also the other social media sites.

    Camera IPs need changed

Pardon my grouchiness, but I think this is a lame argument. There are lots of reports of BI not working correctly and yet you recommend it. How many NVR bugs have been reported vs. BI bugs? Maybe 100x times or less? Are these instances where IE didn't work correctly? Have you used any...

So we're to believe this without any references or data? Not going to find out in Wisconsin. "Wisconsin law also could allow immigrants and other temporary visitors to use their non-citizen IDs as a voter ID. There is nothing on those temporary or non-citizen IDs that say "not a citizen," or...

    Camera IPs need changed

Beating a dead horse I know. Would be a lot easier/faster with configTool. No need to mess with the computer IP address, or log into the cameras. It is even able to assign sequential IPs to multiple cameras with one command. I've never tried this feature.

    What's Up With Boeing?

It was indeed "breaking" news. I find it hard to blame boeing as they didn't make or maintain the engine that threw stuff toward the plane.
