    Three cameras offline after storm

What happened during the storm? Lightning strikes? Power outages/flickers? Heavy wind and driving rain? Is the switch on a UPS?

    Emergency Power/Storms/Prepping etc

Yeah, Meshtastic as an idea is awesome. In reality, its of limited use I've found. I used to really be into it and other radio tech. But then I got Starlink... Well, now its kinda useless. Even in a large outage I can just email/call/text Anyone who would have Meshtastic, probably also has...

    Emergency Power/Storms/Prepping etc

Don't do the 5 min test. 5 Mins is not enough time for the engine to get to operating temperature and will not burn off moisture in the oil. Moisture in oil is bad news for the engine Even Generac have a page on this...

    Emergency Power/Storms/Prepping etc

I would do option 3 personally Once a month is quite often for a loaded test honestly, I’d just manually flip the main breaker and be out there and watch it do its thing every 3-6 months My generator does a 12 min test every week, no load transfer. With short runs like you are doing people...

Dahua Camera Times - How close from Cam to Cam?

Yep, it will just service whatever time it has, right or wrong https://kb.ossi-usa.com/knowledge-base/configure-windows-10-11-as-ntp-time-server/ Internet NTP has a lot of rate limiting, especially when you have a lot of devices using the same server from the same public IP

Dahua Camera Times - How close from Cam to Cam?

Out of interest, have you tried a different NTP source and seen if you end up with the same issue? When I look a packet capture I see NTP traffic from the cameras quite often I wonder if the Asus router is rate limiting NTP or something. It certainly wouldn't be my first choice for NTP. Why not...

Dahua Camera Times - How close from Cam to Cam?

As far as I can tell just from watching the UI, all my cameras have perfect time and switch seconds at the exact same moent I have BI running on Windows Server and have it serving NTP on the VLAN the cameras use. The upstream NTP from the BI box is my 3 local GPS backed NTP servers

    Emergency Power/Storms/Prepping etc

Do I have a problem with over-preparing for power outages? Yes. But so do you so you can't judge me Kind of a boring post, but figured I'd post in case it gave someone an idea I have a standby Genset with an ATS, and I also have a 30a inlet with Interlock at the panel BUT, what if I want to...
