Ah, OK, well maybe just try bringing it indoors, open it up and let it dry for a few days at least, then re-assemble and possibly try sealing all case joints with silicone or similar. Might be worth checking the rubber gaskets if visible, I have known these get crushed or misaligned from... -

I have been here with a similar bullet, it got sun for most of the day, I dried it out for days indoors, added extra silica gel, sealed the outsides with silicon, you name it, I did it! Even tried the drying process and sealing up again in both cold and warm conditions, no luck, in the end it... -

If that is a new camera or in warranty, just return it for replacement. I chased a similar issue on an out of warranty unit once, tried sealing it every which way and problem persisted! not worth it in my opinion. -

They need pushing hard, this is quite a serious situation, hopefully they realise. To release a new camera which performs significantly worse then older models is not a good look for any brand. My real concern is that if they released them in this state, does not inspire confidence at all... -

I know what you mean, I see something similar when someone is walking or general movement. As you say, still great but I think the next best option is the 5442 S3 range essentially. I still really like the 4K-T overall, you can try pushing the bitrate high and keeping fps 10-15 if not already on... -

Out of interest, I assume you find the image soft at closer focal distances? granted the lens on the 4K might not be the best, but they are pretty damn sharp once past 10-12 feet. -

Yes indeed, I have been using a similar program called Dahua Sunrise/Sunset, but more basic, although it did allow the focus and zoom to also be set manually, this is great for ALPR if you get any focus shift from day to night. I have dropped one of mine down to 0-0.9ms during the day with 20 gain and 0-2.7ms at night, the latter with 50 gain. It could be just like digital cameras, higher resolution requires somewhat faster shutter. Also finding that keeping gain low helps keep the quality up, more so than the 4mp... -

I am 50/50 on whether this can be fixed with firmware, if the sensor is good enough then technically it should be yes. The real question is even if they can fix our issues...do they want to?!? About right I would guess, although we would happily pay $300-400 for a camera with such a sensor and nice lens, most would probably not. Only Dahua, Hikvision and others know the sales numbers for the lower light, higher priced units. Shame though, I would be very happy to buy three or four at... -

@bigredfish I would have a small virtual :lol: wager that you will see a nice change in daytime quality on the 54Pro if you knock gain down to 20-30 just for a test, of course it will darken the image somewhat but you have so much light there it should be fine. Pushing the ISO (gain) down will... -

OK, here is the thing, in the daytime you should be running gain as low as possible, this reduces ISO and in turn quality should significantly improve, potentially at least. Your mileage may vary of course, some will notice the quality more than others. If you have lots of light then potentially... -

Yes indeed, that is looking a lot better, NR just kills these at the moment. Remind me what gain you have set? that is another things which seems to affect these more than most cameras, I would like to have mine on 30 but stick with 40 so it eases to transition when light fades. If you can...
