Is there an Indoor Autotracking Dome PTZ model available?

The mini-PTZ could be usable inside, even though it is on the wrong sensor. If you wanted it ceiling mounted, Andy has a trim ring that allows it to be recessed so basically just the dome is exposed.

    It's not just Costco

I can't fucking stand it. People have no common sense or courtesy at that store.

Someone’s been spending too much time here

Not really. They all have a purpose and specific job. Yes, there may be some overlap in FOV and coverage, but I doubt there is much "redundancy" in the images each captures.

Camera placement help with security lights already installed please (pics included)

It might, until something happens and you realize you have a hole in your coverage and missed something. Also having cameras dedicated to specific jobs and FOVs and not "one camera to see them all" will increase your camera count. I am 2750sqft with a 1/3 acre lot and I have somewhere between...

    Who knows ESP-32?

I considered some hot glue, as well. With the integrated board, I need to solder the headers on either way, so it's actually less work to solder the wires instead. Unfortunately needed pins aren't always neighbors, so I can't just solder on connectors. As of now, the only connections I will...

    Who knows ESP-32?

When you finally get your board and hardware wired, and your project is ready to use somewhere, how do you handle header connections? Do you just let them ride and hope they stay connected to the header pins?

    Who knows ESP-32?

Well, after finding 100 different button press sequences that others claim should work with this thing, I finally got it to show as online. What secret handshake of button presses was required? None. Absolutely none. I just had to remove the IO0/GND jumper...

    Who knows ESP-32?

This is the USB adapter I am using. From what I have found, I have the dip switches set correctly. If this wasn't communicating to the board, then nothing would work, and the install would fail, right? https://a.co/d/4QI1w9D

The new board is here, and I am having no luck with it either.

    Who knows ESP-32?

On the stand alone board, I just plugged it in via USB C and it worked. For the relay board, I jumped IO0 to GND. I had to use a USB to TTL adapter for this one. I have another relay board that should be here in the next couple hours. I will see if this one behaves any differently when I try...

    Who knows ESP-32?

Well, I just did a stand alone board without any issues. :eyeroll: It looks like the issue may be with the board I am trying to provision.

My brain is starting to hurt. What's the best way to wipe this thing and start over?

I tried your yaml, and it's still offline. Maybe I will nuke it and start over, if that's an option.

    Who knows ESP-32?

What is the difference between your yaml and mine? It looks practically the same. Did you use a relay board, or a standalone board?

No, it's all in my head.

    Who knows ESP-32?

I thought the purpose of the fallback hotspot was to connect if it was somewhere it could not connect to the primary network? So it should be displayed if it's not connected. I am just trying to troubleshoot and see if I maybe fried something when soldering the headers on. My thought was if the...

    Who knows ESP-32?

I may have made some progress. It's confusing on which machine it needs to be plugged into at certain steps. I updated the serial drivers and got to the next step, but now need to figure out how the buttons need to be pressed for it to initialize.

    Who knows ESP-32?

Ok, I am lost. I have tried following along with videos, but what I am seeing doesn't flow with the videos. Any suggestions? I have added a new device in ESPHome. I thought this flashed the device, but apparently not and now I need to load a bin file to it. I can't get the board to show as...

    Permanent "Holiday" Lights discussion

The one I plan to use is around 20"x17". The enclosure will probably be 30"x30" because I can't find anything in a 28" that will work. A lot of people use an Epson L210SF, which is around 12"x10".

    Permanent "Holiday" Lights discussion

I want permanent lights since it would make every season much easier... but I have a hipped roof and there is no good way to install them that wouldn't look horrible the other 65% of the year. Neighbors have started installing the Govee lights, but I am not a fan of the scalloped look on the...

5442-ZE upgrade for better identification at longer distance - Z4E vs Z12E vs ANPR?

Here are some captures, for reference. The X3 image could work for recognize, but I wasn't happy with it. X3, even with ALL of the onboard IR it has. Unfortunately I didn't save many captures. These are the Mid and Far views. Z4E with it's fewer onboard IR LEDs.

5442-ZE upgrade for better identification at longer distance - Z4E vs Z12E vs ANPR?

I replaced my X3 with a fixed focal length 5442 and a Z4E because the 2MP just wasn't cutting it at night.

    Who knows ESP-32?

Well, I bought a $40 Lenovo Thinkcenter, got HA loaded onto it, and now have ESPHome running. I just need to wait for the USB TTL adapter to arrive, but I should probably also buy a better soldering station, too.
