    I ordered one from Amazon, Real HD is the brand. I fully expect to be disappointed. In fact, looking at the reviews, it doesn't really matter which brand I chose I'll be disappointed. :banghead:

    If the buyer/end user doesn't have access to the products it's not a very sound business model. Such as in my case, Dahua lost the opportunity to make future sales. I'm sure I'm not the only one. as for what their intent is, I couldn't care less.

    Looks like it's time for me to abandon Dahua and go with another brand. It makes no sense to me that a company would pick and chose who it sells it's products to, especially when it chooses to eliminate to majority of the buying public. But what do I know. :rolleyes: Goodbye Dahua.

    Other than a couple EmpireTech cams on Amazon I haven't been able to find any that aren't so stupidly priced that I can't see anybody buying them ($2699.99 for a 5mp dome cam? Gimmie a break). There are none on eBay. All the others are found are grossly over priced and being sold by "Dealers"...

    I've discovered something strange about mine. It has a 360 degree horizontal field of view. Wasn't expecting ting this first time I saw it. I hope it's by design, if not it will surely self destruct when the wires to the turret break.

    New cable is a Monoprice Cat 6 advertised as 24AWG Pure Copper so I can sleep good at night knowing a crap cable isn't going to destroy my new cam. Running a 100ft cable in the attic was no fun tho.

    Just replaced my backyard cam with a Dahua IPC-PDW3849-A180-AS-PV 180 degree view camera. The cable runs thru the attic and is probably 100ft long. it's an el cheapo Amazon Basics flat cable.
