My Timetec drive is a one TB drive and has 850GB free space. I do not use hardware acceleration it is set to no. I don't use any alerts or anything else in B.I. except record. I have it set to record five second videos for all cameras. I review the main camera videos every morning and delete...

Thank you for the info. I have two solid state HDs that I already do use (WD Blue SA510 2.5 500GB & Timetec 30TT253X2-IT ) and a Intel Core i7-4790K 3.60GHz CPU that is the best CPU I can put in my motherboard.( ASUS B85M-E Motherboard bios 3602). Also running (Win. 10x64 with 24GB Ram). I would...

From what I understand the only reason you need internet for a security camera is if you want to view them from anywhere or want alerts and so on. I just need them to record to my hard drive at nighttime and that's it.

    Camera Freezes

It's been connected directly to my router the last few days so I'm sure it could find internet if it needed it. Everything I have been told is security cameras don't need internet. I think I will go ahead and contact the company and see what they have to say. One thing I can say about them is...

    Camera Freezes

That's what I did a few days ago and it has not gone dead after that. I have noticed though after I shut down B.i. I then connect to IP Cam Viewer in the mornings just to be able to view what is going on and it seems like when I shut it down and switch back to B.I. the camera is not there. I...

    Camera Freezes

That's what bugs me. It worked and didn't lose connection when connected to the router, the video would freeze sometimes is what I was asking about from the start and it was suggested to use a NIC switch to solve that and it seemed to do that. But that is when it would go dead for hours and then...

Ok the cable tested good so I don't know what is wrong. It does better wireless than wired except for the video freezing. Could the ethernet cable next to the power cable for only about three feet be a problem? It is unshielded cable. But it works good all night.

    Camera Freezes

Well I haven't got my tester yet but I did switch the camera over to wireless two days ago and it has not gone dead. It does lose connection sometimes for a minute or so I'm sure because of it being wireless. I guess that tells me the camera is ok I'm not sure. I will check the cable when my...

    Camera Freezes

Well it did the same thing with leaving B.I. running. I checked it about 10:30Am and it was dead, came back on around 1:30PM and went dead again around 2PM. I checked the voltage all the way to the camera and it is good. I even replaced it with a 2amp instead of the 1amp 12v power supply to no...

    Camera Freezes

Not sure about that one. I will leave it running tomorrow and see what happens. I did notice today I checked it about 9:30AM and it was dead, checked periodically through the day and it suddenly appeared again about 3PM. I use the program Advanced Port Scanner to check it because if it shows up...

Same old crap works great all night then goes dead during the day. Brand new cat 6 cable and 12.6v from the power supply. It makes absolutely no sense.

Thank you, they are both checked. And here is my watchdog settings I am not familiar with these settings at all . Also when the camera stops responding it is not just with B.I. I use advanced port scanner to find my IPs and it shows up in there as not connected also when it does this.

I do it through an app on my phone and there is nothing in there about power saving mode or anything even similar to that

    Camera Freezes

The IP address is still the same in B.I. All cameras have a static IP. The camera is a Zosi C296 5mp camera. Also now after about 5 or so hours it suddenly shows back up without me doing anything. I can ping it now that it is back up. It seems as though it works great all night but after...

    Camera Freezes

I have two routers so my cameras can connect to it and not the main router and to have internet in my room. It is configured to get DHCP from the main router. My internet speed is still pretty good.

So just so you know I only run B.I. at night time from about 6pm to 7AM. And now after about four hours after shutting it down I am back to the same thing. And nothing has been changed as far as the cables or any settings.. Here is a screenshot of it.

    Camera Freezes

All cameras are connected to my router, wireless and wired. Except the wired one now connects to the switch. The only thing the main router does is provide internet. So far after connecting everything as you suggested before, and the way the diagram shows, the wired camera has been working fine...

    Camera Freezes

The router is configured to be a repeater or whatever the name they call it and it is only like that for internet. All cameras are connected to my router and have nothing to do with the main router. Here is the best I could do with a diagram.

    Camera Freezes

Yes mine is a different subnet. It is connected to the main router which is connected to the modem, and my router is connected to that router via ethernet cable. I will try and draw up a small sketch of what I have and post it. (Keep in mind I am no artist.)

    Camera Freezes

I have connected all cables as you said. All cameras are working for now. I had them connected like this before and the wired one dropped out for some reason after the first night. After messing with it for some time I gave up and connected it back to the router and it started working again. So...

    Camera Freezes

No I took the other router out. I adjusted the cables like you have said here with the switch to the router via the lan port and not the wan port is what I read was correct, and then my wireless cameras wouldn't connect. So I had to put everything back the original way I had it for now until I...

    Camera Freezes

Well now this camera keeps losing the signal for some reason and my wireless ones work fine. It makes no sense. I connected the ethernet cable from the main router to the switch, and another cable from the switch to my router, and the camera cable to the switch, and the switch to my NIC. Isn't...

Thank you for the information. What kind of switch do you mean? I plan to just run one camera via ethernet through it without internet.

    Camera Freezes

Can you run two routers to Bi at the same time with one being not connected to the internet but ethernet connected cameras?
  27. W

    Camera Freezes

No, it just goes to BI through my router. The only reason I don't have or use a NVR is because all my cameras are different brands and I have never found one that works with different brands. Plus it would be too expensive now to switch to all the same brand. Plus the only time I use BI is night...

It has no video setting in the app if that is what you mean. Here is pics of everything in the app. Also I was wrong, I can't view it from the web I did it with vlc player and it frezzes there also. ODM doesn't even find the camera either. Also I know my setup isn't the best but it is what I...
