So I'm continuoisly recording during all profiles with triggers set during certain profiles. The triggers are working, but the clips themselves seen to flag/start late. Using highlight I can tell the trigger is detecting motion at the correct time, and the Clip still photo shows the initial...

    Ready to Upgrade Hello

Didnt know where elso to post, so doing it here. Thanks everyone! New system up and running for a week or so now thanks to the info here, Andy, eBay, and Google. The hardest part so far was figuring out how to tunnel two switches to combine vLANs across the entire network. My house is more...

Suggestions on pc to run Blue Iris (6 cams)

I have 6 2MP cameras right now at 15 fps on an Optiplex 3040, i5-6500 with 8MB ram. 14% cpu usage and I think that is using RDP so it's probably lower. Read the wiki. Stay away from cpus with letters on then end (from what I've read here). Got mine new in box off ebay for under $300 USD.

    Easy4IP Blocking

Question? Reflashed my router with Tomato tonight for some vlan segmenting, and remembered the Wiki suggests blocking easy4IP derivitives. Out of curiosity, I went to see what easy4ip was. It appears that easy4ip.com is now lechange.com . Is this something that is needing to be added to the...

    Verifocal to Fixed Focal

Where are you folks getting #'s from in the zoom (i.e. 135, 600,...)? I have a slider with a speed setting. That's all I see on my 5231's and 2231's?

    Verifocal to Fixed Focal

Doing some test placements using an HDW5231 and trying to see if a fixed focal would work at each location. What I can't tell is the current lens setting. I've looked at overlay settings and other places and can't seem to find the current focal length listed in the GUI, if it even exists...

    Review-Dahua SD1A203T-GN Starlight Mini PTZ

A bit of an old thread here, but I got my SD1A203T-GN from Andy, it's been powered up a few days with some pre-settings populated. This morning (after sitting in my dark 70 deg office overnight), parked on a box, the unit is REALLY hot. Sides and top (black area in this orientation) are >105...

    Switch Advice

Thanks. I've read quite a few, and I think my confusion has landed with the camera spec sheets that state "<8.5" or "10W" etc. 3-4W creates a no brainer.

    Switch Advice

Folks, Building a system, and I'm at the switch. I'll have 8 total cameras: (1) Axis PTZ with it's own injector since it has a heater, so skip it; (6) HDW5231R or HDW2231R (or a mix); (1) SD1A203T PTZ. So 7 needing POE. Seeing specs rating them all, say at ~10W, what is the minimum switch...

    Ready to Upgrade Hello

Hey folks. Been lurking for a while filling my head with modern data and planning a new system for the house. I'm retiring my Win XP system with a Geovision DVR card, 480 tvl cameras, and siamese coax, which was all pretty cutting edge in its day (ip cams just surfacing). It sucks now and is...
