    I do recall reading something about only saving ALL alerts with an account. As in, if I click on “Message” at the bottom in DMSS the only ones that show are the notifications that I actually clicked on, or that happened while I had DMSS open.

    With the Shelly device one would be setup at the gate to sense the contact state while the other would be at the NVR to change states accordingly. Of course this is assuming there is already a CCTV setup, I think Bruce_H and I may be getting ahead of ourselves

    Going to need some more information about what you’re working with but these devices are quite versatile and relatively cheap. Careful though, after TonyR turned me on to them they and other Shelly devices have multiplied faster than cameras around here...

    Specs show auto ICR. Does that mean it does have an ir filter and will respond to auxiliary ir light even though it doesn’t have internal lights? I would believe so and these really do make a difference...

    #2 is what has basically eliminated false alarms for me #1 is the first thing I do after adjusting encode settings, then set an IVS rule since for some reason it always changes camera settings when you enable IVS

    I doubt it will make a difference for this specific problem but I’ve switched all my cameras to intrusion instead of tripwire. That, along with setting a minimum target size that’s larger than a cat I am 100% confident if I get a notification it’s a person, as well as I’m sure they never miss...

    While I don’t have an answer, I can say that my 5 series NVR shows the channel number but my 6 series shows the camera name. I discovered this awhile back trying to figure out why I was not getting IVS notifications on the 6 if P2P was disabled. Still haven’t figured that out..

    Home Assistant paired with a Shelly Plus 1 allows for endless possibilities. I’m sure there’s a 3-axis gyro sensor that could be attached to the dock to sense movement. May not be able to catch minor hits without false alarms from wind but I bet it doesn’t shake like that during most storms

    Maybe stopping by a hardware store to look at a union would help visualize how they work. I believe it’s been said correctly to turn the top of the nut north, I would also suggest supporting the pipe/fittings on both sides of the nut until you get it broke loose.

    I’ve had good luck eliminating false alarms from cats and other small animals by increasing the minimum target size. The box doesn’t need to be very large, just enough to tell the camera there’s no way a human is that small.
