Wi-Fi network for BI with no internet?

I tried Tinycam a I think you may be over-thinking this. I don't recall that it matters which port it's connected to on the switch. Set it up as indicated above. I tried Tinycam a couple years ago when I set up my system and liked it so much, I never even looked at the BI app.

    T5442T-ZE Day/Night settings

Sorry, not meaning to hikack the thread but, I've got about 15 or so insteon switches still in service (that replaced all of my X-10 years ago) and am ready to pull them for something more modern and reliable. Too bad. These switches seem well made and have, for the most part, worked okay. I...

Wi-Fi network for BI with no internet?

Still very much a novice here, however, I attached a separate wireless router to my poe switch (which is connected to nic-2 which has no internet.) I don't currently have any wireless cams, but wanted to use a tablet with tinycam to wirelessly access my wired cams. Is this what you're looking...

    Enabling a Hikvision substream

Not sure how to enable substream for a hikvision cam in BI. Can someone tell me what needs to be entered in the cameras configuration page under sub stream? Thanks!

    Video Stutter?

Interesting, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to this. The more I've played with things, I see the issue on both of these 5442 cams. One cam is consistent. The other isn't. Same with BI. Sometimes the recorded video is good, other times it stutters as well.

    Video Stutter?

Is there a consensus as to what the best firmware version is? Can someone direct me to a download for it? I bought three of these cameras and have installed two. The two I installed have a build date of 8/21. The third one is 3/21. Wondering if that has the issue as well.

Here is the info on the camera. Should I upgrade the firmware to something else?

    Video Stutter?

I don't think it's signal loss. Changed out the cheapo patch cable with no change. Frame rate stays fairly constant in BI. With VBR I notice a significant loss of video quality over CBR. I assume it's because it's dropping the frame rate when there is not a lot of movement? When I raise the...

    Video Stutter?

Just looked at the frame rate in BI. It's pretty stable at 20fps. Might range from 19.8 to 20. It's dark and there's not much happening in the video now. I'll check in the daylight tomorrow as well. Thanks.

    Video Stutter?

Thanks for everyone's help. I have about 75 feet of solid copper Monoprice Cat6 ethernet cable between the camera and a patch panel in a media cabinet that has a short (4 inch?) cheapo patch cable between the patch panel and the switch. I'll try swapping that out and see if makes a difference...

Nothing. Haven't ventured into those areas yet.

    Video Stutter?

And no, I made sure both cams had the exact same settings everywhere in the Browser. There may be differences in BI however.

    Video Stutter?

I decided to try VBR 6 (Best). Stutter is pretty much gone. I've read you folks generally suggest CBR. Frame rate 15, Bit Rate 8192. Would I compromise something by leaving it on VBR?

    Video Stutter?

I wondered if the message was because of the demand on my laptop as well. The weird thing is it only seems to happen when viewing the one camera. I can't get it to do it on the other. The other cam remains on main stream. And this only happens when viewing in a browser. Not BI. Interestingly, I...

    Video Stutter?

Thanks. I set the FPS and Iframes of both main and sub streams at 20. Unfortunately it didn't solve the issue. I feel a little embarrassed I didn't already do that. The cameras are connected to a poe switch that's connected to an Elitedesk 800 G4 SFF, i5-8500, 128SSD, 16GB. 8tb Purple. Dual...

    Video Stutter?

Thanks. Here are video and exposure settings. The stutter is pretty much only when live streaming. Again, the stutter gets longer in duration when I extend the gap between frame rate and iframe. With the settings shown, the video pretty much stops every second and then starts again. Bit rate...

    Video Stutter?

I've been searching for tips on reasons why I'm getting video stutter and possible ways to prevent it without much luck. I currently have four cams operational. Two Dahua IPC-T5442T-ZE, one Dahua DH-IPC-HFW2831T-ZAS and a Hikvision DS-2DE4A425IW-DE PTZ. This Hikvision PTZ seems better than the...

    Hikvision DS-2DE4A425IW-DE Smart Tracking

I've been using this cam for a couple of years and its performed great. Just recently started playing with Smart Tracking and have a few questions. Here's what I've done: After a bit of reading I decided to enable smart tracking under Event/Smart Event/Linkage Method and not under PTZ/Smart...

Directional microphone for PTZ nature cam

Yeah, the blue Jays will sure wake you up! I leave a tablet on most of the day with the camera on one of the feeders. I have two mics and they pick up sounds at both feeders. Kinda feels like your sitting outside. By the way, Amazon sells RCA (as well as other types) of connectors that can make...

4 WD purple 8tb drives new

The Purple drives come in 5400 and 7200. I have a 7200 purple in my HP Elitedesk now. Been wanting another one. Not sure if there's a reason I shouldn't mix speeds?

Directional microphone for PTZ nature cam

I was trying to accomplish the same thing last year. I thought it would be great to point the PTZ at the feeder I wanted and hear what was going on there. Couldn't find an cost effective way to do it. I ended up wiring Microseven mics at each feeder (2) in parallel. It works great but does pick...

PoE Splitter/Adapter of choice to power IR illuminator?

Agree 100%. I've buried a fair amount of conduit in the past. Both for low and high voltage. I don't care how well you think you've glued/sealed things, eventually water will fill the conduit. I found that creating drain holes/openings in appropriate areas to allow water to drain is the best...

PoE Splitter/Adapter of choice to power IR illuminator?

Point taken. For the small difference in price, buying a US made power supply might be a better option. Had I known when purchasing, I would have likely done that.

PoE Splitter/Adapter of choice to power IR illuminator?

Truly a novice here, and really didn't take the time to measure anything but.... I've not had very good luck with the cheapo splitters powering IR lighting and audio mics. They work for a while until they don't. Became tired of troubleshooting issues when things stopped working. Decided to buy...

    Powerline AC Adapters

I just recently installed two TP-Link AV600 between a house and shed. The shed is only about 50 feet away. The two units are on the same circuit and they've been working perfectly.
