    Blue Iris UI3

H.265 support is very complex and tricky. I'll try to explain what is going on. Every time UI3 requests a video stream from Blue Iris, UI3 tells Blue Iris these two things: which video codec(s) are supported (H.264, H.265, or both) which video codec is preferred by the user (H.264, H.265, or...

    Blue Iris on Linux

I expect it to perform about the same as if you had a traditional Windows VM and were just using Blue Iris's local console through Remote Desktop (which is a pretty common setup). That is essentially what WinBoat is doing, although apparently with some trickery to make it only send individual...

    Blue Iris on Linux

WinBoat looks like it should work fine, but it is just using a fairly standard virtual machine internally so you get the full overhead of a Windows installation. Apparently it uses Remote Desktop protocol somehow to load individual GUI apps from the Windows VM into the linux desktop...

The Age of Sh!tification and Planned Obsolescence

Oh don't worry they are gonna make sure everything is a rental just as soon as possible and then you won't be buying it in the first place.

    Blue Iris on Linux

Folks have gotten Blue Iris to run in compatibility layers of some kind before but always with bugs and I believe also extra program crashes, which is no good.

Had major Virus wipe out my entire Blue Iris.

Hello. You don't need a new license. Just download the full installer from Blue Iris by Perspective Software LLC | Video Security and Webcam Software and reinstall and reactivate with the original license key. If you are lucky the configuration will still be in the windows registry, otherwise...

    IPV6 troubles

I use pfSense. I think there was just a miscommunication. I had misunderstood your statement to be saying IPv6 firewall rules could not allow just one port and had to allow all traffic to a host (which obviously is incorrect). My mistake. IPv4 and IPv6 are totally separate addressing...

    IPV6 troubles

That is untrue. Maybe for some bad router interface it is true. But in general IPv6 firewall rules are specific to port and protocol otherwise it would be silly. The first screenshot he posted was of his router's firewall rules for a machine named BlueIris Server. It didn't show anything but...

    IPV6 troubles

Heh well that is funny. How did you get sidetracked on ipv6 then? You know ipv6 and ipv4 work at the same time.

    IPV6 troubles

If you are doing this remote access just for yourself of devices you control, then you should honestly discard the whole IPv6 experiment and sign up for Tailscale free plan. Install Tailscale on the Blue Iris computer and on your phone and other devices you want to remote connect from. In...

    IPV6 troubles

Are you saying the http URL in a web browser works with wifi off? Or does not work? The Blue Iris mobile app's ipv6 support is a totally unknown factor for me. All I can say is if you did the firewall rules all correctly then it will work in a web browser and then it SHOULD work in the Blue...

    IPV6 troubles

I also don't know if Blue Iris's remote access test wizard supports IPv6 testing. I never use that wizard.

    IPV6 troubles

By the way the exact same IPv6 address or URL should work both INSIDE your LAN and outside from the internet/cellular connection. So if it works on LAN but not through internet then you know the issue is with your router or ISP.

    IPV6 troubles

Ok the screenshots don't really show everything I'd need to know to verify correct setup. Windows machines typically have many IPv6 addresses and many of them are temporary, e.g. here one day and gone the next. So if possible, use DHCPv6 in the router to reserve and assign a specific address...

DHI-TPC-SD2241-T – Heat AI mode fire and flame detection filters do not stay enabled

I remember them having strange issues with web browser compatibility before which caused certain settings to not be saved related to PTZ autotracking. Try with another web browser (Chrome / Firefox) or Pale Moon 32 bit edition (Pale Moon has an older code base, based on Firefox, and 32 bit...

    BI suddenly showing "Disabled"

Yeah, remember when the all cameras pause button did not require a long press? Hell even after it started requiring a long press sometimes people hit it by accident. I wonder if there was a hotkey for it too. And back in the day you could drag a camera into a desktop frame that disappears...

    BI suddenly showing "Disabled"

Yup on the General tab of the camera settings, there is a checkbox "Enabled" and also when you right click a camera, near the top of the context menu is an "Enable" or "Disable" button.

Looking for 10x optical zoom as cheap as possible

Real on-camera digital zoom is better than if it is only implemented in the video player alone. I wonder if that is what the Amcrest are doing. When digital zoom is done within the camera before video compression, you avoid basically all loss of detail from compression artifacts.

Looking for 10x optical zoom as cheap as possible

We used to have one of the old first-generation Ubiquiti Aircam in there because it was trivially easy to remove the front cover, unscrew the lens, and swap the lens with any focal length you wanted, even with IR support (which that camera didn't natively have). I forget what format of lens it...

Looking for 10x optical zoom as cheap as possible

Just trying to read the dials with confidence in all lighting conditions. I'm not sure if the little one by itself to the far right is relevant. This one looks possibly promising at $80 from Annke directly. https://ipcamtalk.com/threads/annke-wz520-ptz.80933/ Sounds like the Blue Iris...

Internal AI Causing Massive CPU/Memory Usage?

I don't use AI with Blue Iris (yet..) but I recall there was an issue where Blue Iris had a way-too-high default for the number of AI instances it was running. I think this is "max connects" in Blue Iris Settings > AI tab. It should be set to something like 4 or less...

Looking for 10x optical zoom as cheap as possible

I'm looking for as cheap as possible of camera to watch a small panel of analog gauges on industrial equipment, indoors. It needs to meet these criteria: Able to zoom to 20 degree horizontal FOV or narrower. More zoom is very welcome. RTSP video streaming 1080p or higher resolution (unless...

Will Blue Iris for Mobile work with Android 7.1 (Nougat)?

Since that is PoE powered I assume that means it is not reliant on WiFi for networking, which is great. I expect UI3 will run perfectly with a 1080p stream and you could even edit the streaming profile to increase the quality and bit rate since it is a little low by default. Something like...

Will Blue Iris for Mobile work with Android 7.1 (Nougat)?

Also every version of UI3 ever released is available to download on github so you can extract an older copy and load it forever if that ever becomes necessary. Blue Iris is pretty good about maintaining backwards compatibility so that older apps and integrations don't get broken.
