    A Healthy Competitor? - G6 Pro Turret

Technically, you can log in to the camera, but you can only change network config, update firmware, and stuff like that. Nothing related to the video settings. There is very limited number of settings accessible through Protect interface, but nothing comparable to Dahua cameras.

    A Healthy Competitor? - G6 Pro Turret

But... it's an Ubiquiti device, it should just work, right? Today I've changed config to make the shutter faster, still, the snapshot is not as good as from other two cameras. I think the daytime quality could be improved by firmware updates. But it looks like night time problems is a result...

And one more data point, snapshots from the middle of a cloudy day. Notice, that T54PRO-ZE looks a bit better than T54IR-ZE-S3 in this case. T54PRO-ZE T54IR-ZE-S3 And G6 Pro with really good static image, buggy WB, and fuzzy car :(

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

The problem is that after factory reset the camera going to have the default IP that will not be reachable if you are using subnet other than 192.168.1.* :(

    A Healthy Competitor? - G6 Pro Turret

One more observation, this car was easily detected by both T54IR-ZE-S3 and T54PRO-ZE but not by G6 Pro :(

    A Healthy Competitor? - G6 Pro Turret

Well yes and no, the rtsp stream is coming from Protect iself, not from the camera. So, you can use it with Blue Iris but you have to have Protect for that.

I hope eventually they are going to implement this. I'm using Ubiquiti network stuff for many years already, and they are making it better and better with every update, UDM-Pro for example, nowadays it's many times better than it was after initial release in 2019, and they still improving it.

    A Healthy Competitor? - G6 Pro Turret

T54IR-ZE-S3 is in manual config mode, trying to make it better than the default :) For G6 Pro there are not too many configuration parameters, I changed fps and bitrate to 15 and 8192 Mbps to match two other cameras. But that doesnt affect image quaility. For everything else it's really hard to...

For @Arjun the same gate and the same deer as in my first post, but from the T54PRO-ZE perspective.

Ubiquiti cameras are only working with Protect, this is the only interface to use them.

    A Healthy Competitor? - G6 Pro Turret

I beleive its sensor is optimized for daytime color performance, what is really good, btw. Also, it's impossible to have different day/night time settings that makes it even worse :(

I just edited my message. There is external IR illuminator.

Ok, just to compare G6Pro and S3. :) Both cameras are at their max zoom level, located very close to each other. Using external IR illuminator, no IR from the cameras. Distance to the gate is ~100ft.

What's in the Pipeline for Dahua's 2026 Lineup?

Even that one is worse than the 54PRO, according to my tests. Daytime image/videos are awesome, but daytime movement detection is slightly worse than the 54PRO and S3. And nighttime image/video quality and movement detection are really bad compared to the 54PRO and S3.

What's in the Pipeline for Dahua's 2026 Lineup?

I was responding to Arjun, who mentioned Blue Iris AI. But yeah, now I'm getting your joke, not sure if Arjun got it though :)

What's in the Pipeline for Dahua's 2026 Lineup?

Well, I really like AI in S3 cameras, especially in the "long distance" mode, it's picking up deers and other wildlife from far away. I'm testing right now 54PRO and Ubiquiti G6 Pro, but so far S3 looks like the best one. And G6 Pro with its 1/1.2 sensor looks really pathetic at night. Here...

Hi from new member ‍♂️. Preparing complex private 30.000sqm infrastructure for 2026.

What's your threat profile in Sicily? Do you need good night IR images? I have similar rural property in Canada, it's 20 acres (8ha) and frankly I don't care about security too much, it's mainly about making sure I can detect deers inside fenced area and watching wildlife in general :) So for me...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Ok, just ordered 4 S3s. I was waiting on the fence to replace my old non-S3 5442s :) . Also thinking about buying Ubiquiti G6 Pro Turret just to compare to S3. I'm almost sure it's not going to work for my use-case but who knows...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

Then, it would be better to wait for the "final" version of the firmware, instead of trashing clearly unfinished product and making Andy's business suffer even more in the current political and economical situation. I'm all for more testing but, in my opinion, the reports should not have too...

    B54PRO-Z4E first impression

It seems you’ve already made up your mind about 54PRO and consider it inherently flawed. In that case, what would be the purpose of testing it again?

    Tail Scale VPN

Also, Tailscale is using Wireguard as its VPN "engine", and Wireguard is using UDP as its transport protocol. That makes port forwarding pretty safe, because you cannot discover the port by traditional probing. Wireguard will only respond to the connections(UDP packets) that use known secrets...

Dahua WizColor 5x59-PRO and SmartLight 5x59-IL new series

So, does 54PRO ZE have any advantages comparing to 5442-S3 at this moment, even when it's using very latest firmware?

    Deer season 2025

  27. M

Hmph... never knew. Sharing IP camera between 2 NVR's. How about that?

Port forwarding? I don't think that would be possible in case if you use real VPN.

Is it possible to move protected alerts to anoher BI instance?

Aha, thank you jaydeel! Now I understand better how it all works. Thank you for the script, I'm going to try it soon.

Is it possible to move protected alerts to anoher BI instance?

It looks like alerts JPG files are stored inside clips.dat file in my BI setup. I also cannot find any individual alerts DAT files, so I assume they are stored as part of clips.dat file as well.

Is it possible to move protected alerts to anoher BI instance?

I'm planning to move my BI instance to another box. I have some protected alerts on my current BI setup that I would like to keep for historical reasons. Is there any way to do that?
